Rooms were well equipped, but small and dark. Hotel staff rude. None of the gracious service one expects in South Africa. Very over-priced.

We visited Winchester Mansions on our honeymoon, and had a lovely time. The Staff were so helpful, and advised us on places to visit, and organised for the hotel shuttle bus to take us places. The food was superb, and the wine fantastic! Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Top Local Tips for Cape Town

Don't just stay in downtown If you want to have that perfect photo of Table mountain, drive along the coast towards blouberg. There is a little coctail bar called Pokololo's where you can watch the sun go down and enjoy the scenery. For some sushi with a view, pull over into Blowfish, whcih is on the way, sundays are an all you can eat buffet day!

Driving on the left This was a trickier proposition for us than we anticipated, although we did get the hang of it. My tip would be to avoid driving after dark during rush hour. We found ourselves in that situation returning from a day trip to the Cape Peninsula, and it was rather stressful and hectic. I do think if we had been in the country for a few days even just cabbing around, we would have been a little more accustomed to it, but we embarked on the first morning on our drive which was a little overwhelming!

Boulder Beach Penguins Don't miss this. It is extraordinary to walk and swim in amongst wild birds that have chosen to live in close proximity with people.
