Top Local Tips for Cape Town

Driving We arrived late at night and had arranged a car to pick us up, this was a big plus. Then we picked up a hire car the following day. Finding our way around was easy, they drive on the same side of the road as us ,there is plenty parking and the street/city maps are good. We were warned not to go into central Cape Town at night which we didn't but never felt insecure driving around. Dropping the car at the airport also couldn't have been easier with plenty men wearing orange to direct you.

Where to eat Codfather in Camps Bay and Five Flies in town both great food and great values. Baia is great food and great atmosphere but top dollar. Compared to similar quality restaurants elsewhere, Baia while not inexpensive is a good value.

The Mount Nelson Hotel This Mount Nelson is s 5 star hotel in the city and is ranked in the top 10 in the world. You can go for high tea every afternoon. You pay around £9 a head for as much tea, savory snacks and cakes as you can eat. The choice is immense so don't eat lunch on that day! You can sit outside overlooking the gardens on a warm day.
