Positionaly a lovely hotel with great sea views. The rooms are small but adequate. There is however a homely feel to the place and all the staff are very friendly.

This hotel has one of the best locations in Cape Town. The rooms are ok and the common parts very average but the views make up for the lack of recent investment that is needed.

Top Local Tips for Cape Town

Table mountain table mountain is often closed by high winds. Cape Town can be a windy city and also mist can hinder the views over the city. Advice is to check before you make your way to the foot of table mountain that the lifts are operational, also get there early (check opening times as they change by the month) to avoid the queues.... Note the wind picks up during the day in Cape Town, esp in the afternoons, another reason to get there early....

ring for taxi always ring for a taxi, never flag one down in the street - the hotel will organise taxis for you as there are only a few reputable companies.

Souvenir shopping By all means browse around the Waterfront for items, its great fun but for real bargains I always head to Greenpoint stadium on sundays. You can buy jewellery, pottery, original art even ostrich feather dusters for very reasonable prices. Watch your purse and valuables though, I suspect there to be a fair number of pick pockets operating in the area
