Wonderful Place

from pplondon
What a wonderful place. It's the 3rd time we've stayed there. A different room/suite each time, but always the best service and a very warm welcome. 3 new suites have private terraces with jacuzzis, loungers and table & chairs for an alfresco breakfast, lunch or dinner. Jill and Oliver are excellent hosts and really knowledgeable - they give information and book restaurants and any excursions.. We'll go back soon... it's a shame there's a whole big world out there!! But do place this riad on your top 5 list..

A real gem - both this lovely house and its owner Jill.@

What a gorgeous house!

A lovely warm welcome by the owner Jill and her son Oliver who have furnished and equipped this riad with such flair. Our room, with private roof terrace, was divine. The service was impeccable and the public areas, magnificent.

Lovely light lunches, at any time of the day - and anywhere. The setting for dinner was wonderful accompanied by live music. One small criticism was perhaps a lack of imagination and variation over the dinner menus.

But we loved every minute here and will be back - if Jill will accept us!

Fantastic !!!!!

Stayed here 16 April to 21st April. Everything I have read on trip advisor about this Raid is true in my opinion. This Raid was wonderful, Jill and Oliver (her son) were great and have a great knowledge of where to eat, shop, and visit. The staff are very good and the driver Samir was very good too, always on time. The rooms are fantasitc so are the breakfasts ooooo and must not forget the gin and tonics. Also when you go out or into the Medina they give you a mobile phone so if you get lost you can call them and they will either come and collect you, or direct you out. All in all a great place to stay if I go back and hopefully I will this is where I am going to stay again.

Paradise found

After being stuck in the snow at Gatwick it was a tough job to lift our spirits but arriving at Riad Noir d'Ivoire that was managed in about 2 minutes. Following a smooth and friendly airport transfer and a fun few minutes following cous cous the donkey we found ourselves in a small corner of paradise. Our amazing room (Guepard) was split on several levels with a sophisticated lounge, relaxing bedroom, gorgeous bathroom and luxurious roof terrace complete with hot tub and loungers. Jill is an interesting and talented host and with Oliver and their team has created an oasis in the chaos of the medina. Outside the doors you can immerse yourself in all that Marrakech has to offer safe in the knowledge that a warm welcome and a cold glass of rose awaits back at the hotel. All the communal spaces are lovingly designed and welcoming and although there were several guests staying we always had plenty of space to ourselves. We enjoyed 2 excellent lunches at the Riad and Jill recommended some fantastic evening jaunts our favourite of which was Grand Café de la Poste. Good hotels are rarely a bargain but you know somewhere has struck a perfect balance when it all seems more than worth it and Noir d'Ivoire definitely did that. It would seem impossible not to have a magical stay here in such warm and beautiful surroundings, simply outstanding.

Cannot say in words what a special place this is. We will be back.

Future top 10 of Marrakech

An excellent relaxing break with Jill and Oliver at this lovely Riad. It is well run and beautifully designed by Jill herself. As ever the people make the stay and everyone did their upmost to make us feel like house guests. Jill is very hands on and provides excellent tips for places to go, eat and shop tailoring to our specific needs. The Riad is approached from a not very prepossing street, and cases are carried to the Riad by Cous Cous the donkey! When inside it opens up to a fabulous space. The Hamman and massages were good value and of an International Standard.
10 minutes walk to the main square, via the major streets in the souk, so well positioned and within the medina itself. They were booked for 6 weeks solid after we left so they must be doing something right. Bravo!

Absolutely great!!!!

Our stay at the Riad for a long weekend was simply marvelous. The Riad is located at a fair sitance from the center and has very small lanes to get in there, but when you enter the Riad the first impression says it all.
Beatifully decorated and great ambience. Great for relaxing and destress yourself.
The first night we had dinner in the place suggested by Jill the owner and we were completely charmesd, she is great source of information by the way.
Would surely vgo again.

What a great place to stay at!

Had a fantastic break here with a freind of ours and his 2 children. The Riad itself is absolutely gorgeous, incredibly comfortable beds and beautiful interior design, with each room having it's own distinct feel to it. Jill and Oliver really looked after us, and the staff were brilliant, seemingly magically appearing just at the right time to tend to our needs. Food was great, and they seemed to know just what we would like depending on what we had been up to during the day. One of the best stays I have had and would not hesitate in recommending this for someone who wants a fantastic place to stay and to be well and truly looked after.

The Noir D'Ivoire is simply glorious. This Riad has been decorated with love and complete attention to detail. This attention to detail is extended in every form, from the staff as well as from Jill and her family (who run it), to all their guests. Nothing is a problem for them as they are willing and able to accomodate your needs and desires. Jill is a fantastic fountain of information on where to go, what to see and how to do it. For your safety, the Riad provides its guests with mobile phones so that they are able to call in case of an emergency , if you are lost or if you simply need to call your driver to pick you up. The food and drinks were lacking in nothing and it was wonderful to savour some local dishes with a European flair. Finally, the Hammam (on site) is an experience not to be missed. You will float out of there. If you are looking for an escape from reality or a romantic break, the Riad Noir d'Ivoire is the perfect choice.

Paradise on earth

This is truly an oasis in the middle of Marrakech's medina. Pamper yourself with luxury at this wonderful Riad. Currently comprising 6 rooms (3 or 4 of which are suites). I was upgraded to one of the suites on my final night, but the double rooms are fantastic in themselves. The Riad also has it's own hammam and spa to help you relax and unwind after a day haggling in the souks. nothing was too much trouble for the Riad who helped us book restaurants and a trip to the Atlas mountains.

This Riad is to be highly recommended, and I can't wait t return to it very soon.
