We stayed for 4 nights at the Riad Elizabeth for a family reunion holiday. We arrived late and tired after a drive through the Atlas mountains (and an unplanned diversion into the city) but were greeted by John with good humour and news of the football score. The riad is very attractively designed with striking black features, comfortable rooms with powerful showers, and roof terrace for breakfasts and evening drinks from the honesty bar. Elizabeth was charming and informative, taking us one day to look in the souks for spoons we'd admired in the riad. One day we went shopping in the food market and cooked our dinner with the friendly and very helpful staff. The salads we made under their direction were the best food we ate in Morocco.
Although only recently opened, the Riad Elizabeth is attracting very positive reviews. Any criticisms? Well the credit card facilities weren't working - which meant having to go round all the cash machines with all our cards to draw out sufficient funds to pay in cash. This was certainly a drag but didn't dampen our overall experience. All of us - from twenty something sons to their parents - were very happy.

Perfect, Amazing, Wonderful

from holiday2008London
Riad Elizabeth is an oasis in the hectic rush of Marrakesh. John and Elizabeth are the perfect hosts and their riad is stunning; 5 stars all around. They will personally show you around the area, pointing things out and give you advice, and they will book or organise anything else you might want to do. The rooms in the riad are stunning and the atmosphere is great.

A delightful oasis in the midst of the medina

from LisaBYorkshire
We had a 3 night stay at Riad Elizabeth in September 2008 and absolutely fell in love with the place. You certainly get the 'wow factor' as soon as you walk in with the spectacular, simple & stylish decor and within minutes you feel relaxed and at home there. The refreshing mint tea & freshly made local pastries were delightful and much welcomed on arrival.

Elizabeth & John are a really lovely, warm, kind, genuine and helpful couple who cannot do enough for you to make your stay in Marrakech as wonderful as possible. Their local knowledge of restaurants, shops and souks is invaluable to first time visitors. It's immediately obvious how much they love what they do & their personal touches and attention to detail make all the difference.

The Riad itself is nothing short of immaculate, recently opened in July this year with all mod-cons but also that moroccan twist in it's furnishings. The roof terrace for breakfast is beautiful - a real oasis in the bustling medina of local moroccan life & the star gazing is stunning!

Put simply, Riad Elizabeth is one of the most amazing places I have ever stayed & would highly recommend it - I for one will certainly be going back!

An Oasis of Tranquillity

from Flops84
We have just come back from spending a fantastic stay at Riad Elizabeth. The Riad is laid back, sophisticated and beautifully decorated. It is perfectly located near to many of Marrakech’s main sites, and, just a very short walk from the souks and the main square. A few hours shopping in the souks, can be really tiring, so it was lovely to be able to pop back around the corner to chill out with a cold drink on the terrace watching the sunset.
The staff are hugely attentive; going out of the way to make sure your stay is extra special. Elizabeth and John are exceptional hosts making you feel like old friends. As Marrakech is a difficult place to negotiate, their advice on the best places to see, eat and relax is invaluable. We will definitely be back and do not hesitate to recommend this absolutely stunning Riad to anyone.

The riad itself is designed elegantly and creatively with amazing attention to detail.

In addition Elizabeth and John are very warm, willing and able hosts.
They consistently went "the extra mile" for us.

A great place to stay. We have nothing bad to say about it.

Luxury and genuine hospitality in the heart of the Medina

from hmtr1978
After deciding to have a quick last minute break in Marrakech, we happened to stumble across Riad Elizabeth online - and a really lucky stumbe that was! John and Elizabeth, the owners and designers of this stunning guesthouse, are impeccable hosts. The riad itself is beautiful - a great mixture of the modern and traditional with touches of Moroccan flair. The detail all around the riad is clearly very personal and, in turn, very homely - from the artwork on the walls to the lanterns hanging on the roofterrace; there's a story behind all of it.

The hospitality at the riad is really unique in my experience. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and John and Elizabeth treated us like friends rather than guests. As a first time visitor to Marrakech, they were extraordinarily helpful, offering to guide us through the souks for the first time so we could get our bearings and suggesting fantastic places to eat, drink and be merry that made us feel like locals 'in-the-know'. And all this done while enjoying some great drinks on the roof terrace in the evening sun with the hosts and the other guests should you so wish.

We will certainly be back and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.

Be Pampered

We stayed at Riad Elizabeth in July this year. We have been travelling to Marrakech regularly over the last three years and have stayed in a large variety of accommodations from 5star hotels to a backpackers hostel. I can honestly say that John and Elizabeth provided the cleanest, friendliest and best value for money of all of the places in which we have stayed.
The staff are excellent and the food of the highest standard, we will return.

An absolute gem!

from sunseeker0025
I stayed at Riad Elizabeth for a week in July and wow, what a place! We were a little nervous about our first visit to Africa but our concerns were soon a distant memory once we’d arrived and settled in.

Truly one of the most beautiful interiors I have ever seen along with the warmest of welcomes….it cannot be faulted. Elizabeth and John are very helpful and knowledgeable about Marrakech and we were never short of things to do and see.

After shopping in the souks, head back for a mint tea on the roof terrace - the most peaceful of environments where it’s easy to lose yourself. The Riad is located in the medina and the souks are an easy stroll away – and navigation was made simple with the directions provided by Elizabeth and John. The location is ideal.

I will be recommending Riad Elizabeth to anyone who’ll listen and am already planning my next visit…. The best choice for a break in Marrakech!

An exquisite, tranquil riad in the heart of Marrakech

from Jen_223
Just an amazing place... Elizabeth and John have done a wonderful job creating a beautiful, tranquil hideaway tucked away in Marrakech's Medina. We stayed for 4 nights in July, and will definitely be back. The interior is chic and comfortable, with amazing attention to detail. It's not the easiest place to find - Marrakech is a labyrinth, but well worth the effort. John kindly came and collected us from our previous hotel then made sure that we knew how to find our way around. We were made to feel like old friends, nothing was too much trouble and the little touches to ensure our comfort were myriad and thoughtful - I simply cannot fault Riad Elizabeth and cannot recommend it enough. Hope to be back very soon...

Very chic but friendly oasis

from GffLondon
We were lucky enough to be the first clients of John and Elisabeth, the owners. They have spent a huge amount of time and thought on getting the detail just right in this refurbished riad.

They claimed to be aiming for a welcome that makes their guests feel like family and they have nailed it. They were discrete when we wanted to relax alone but willing company and advisors when we needed them.

I have no doubt they will have many returning guests, ourselves included
