Me, my wife and our 8 years son paid about 50 Eur for one night. Like all the Ibis in Morocco, it's very good value, even more in Marrakech, where a search on the web leads you to the sensation that Marrakech is a relatively expensive site.

Although it's not a big hotel, without much amenities and not much space on the rooms, it seemed a very nice place to stay for a couple of days. It has a nice garden and swimming pool. It's located near an important train station (they building a newer one nearby), not far from the center, although it's not in any of the main touritic zones of the town.

Interestingly, by the swimming pool you get the sensation that it is a beach hotel.

A note for those families wanting their young children to sleep in the room: they don't pay but they also have no extra beds - they have to sleep on a mattress on the floor.

Yahia drover us from Marrakech on a tour through the Atlas Mountains, via Ourzazete, Ait Benhaddou, Telouet, Erfoud to the desert in Merzouga. This tour was actually arranged by another tour operator in the UK but it would have been much cheaper to book direct with Yahia. He has an air-conditioned 4x4 which can accommodate 6 passengers. It is worth contacting him for a quote if you are thinking of doing any day trips or tours. Great guy, good driver, friendly and I would recommend him.

Day trip from Marrakesh to Ourika Take a day to get to Ourika in the Atlas mountains. Spectacular scenery, very much like the Hindu Kush in Pakistan, tall mountains and watefalls. Sidi Fatima is an excellent place for tajine on the river. Roads are very narrow, use extreme caution. Avoid Sundays, very crowded. Use caution enroute, frequent speed traps. Many locations for Berber items and aurgane oil. You could easily spend a few days here, there are many small hotels.

Know your standard fares! Whenever travelling to and from the airport do not pay anything more than 50dh. They will tell you all sorts of things and even fight with other taxi drivers in the road to get your fare, but be firm and only pay 50dh.
