Top Local Tips for Marrakech

Escape to shape yoga retreat Escape to shape is not an holistic destination, but mainly a money making business. We dont even know who is behind. But some times they are using the services of some international yoga teachers (mainly US), to try to make their package more attractive. Escape to Shape presents its products and location as outstanding, but they are not. Local staff complained on their working conditions. We were certainly not receiving the best accommodation, neither the best food, just bad. Their offer doesnt much the reality. And the spirit of the event is dramatically disappointing. It is really a shame that some business people use yoga (+attractive arguments to loose weight) to make a maximum money on you; and on local staff: It was a big disappointement. Just stay away.

Great Restaurant run by local women Al Fassia is a great local restaurant run by a group of local ladies. It was in the new town area of Gueliz but has recently moved to a very stylish new built villa just outside the Medina near the Agdal Gardens of the Royal Palace. Get a petit taxi there and arrange for him to collect you for your return trip as there are no passing taxis there. Very comfortable and beautifully decorated dining room, charming staff, all women. Delicious tajines! Really worth a visit as very authentic, not expensive and very good Moroccan food.
