Top Local Tips for Marrakech

Moroccan restaurants Possibly the best Moroccan restaurants in Marrakech are Yacout and Topsil. Both offer a set menu. Both provide huge amounts of food which, unless one has been starved for weeks on end, could not possibly be eaten! The food is excellent. Do not have anything to eat beforehand - otherwise there is no way that you will be able to get pass the second tagine to the next dish! Interestingly however, there were no Moroccans eating at either restaurant when we visited. Europeans but no Moroccans. If you go to the modern part town to Le Comptoir, which is a modern French/Moroccan restaurant full of young people, you will also find many younger Moroccans. We also went to Le Pavillon - said to be one of the best French restaurants. The service and quality of the food were, in our view, indifferent.

Assure Early Day-Time Arrival On our British Airways flight from Heathrow, make sure to arrive in Marrakech/Menara Int'l in the morning - NOT as we did on the last flight of the evening - as we missed the aerial views (as seen on departure). Besides, you'll want to dip into your pavilion piscine upon your arrival to the Amanjena.
