A good 3-star, not a 4-star hotelfrom manishchauhan
Fab weekfrom Travlagirl
As most other reviews say, this hotel is NOT 5*, i would say a good 3* maybe 4*, the main reason being the food which was not very good at all, especially compared to other 5* hotels in this area. We visited some friends who stayed at the Beach Club and had lunch & a look around and were gutted we hadn't booked in there!!
We ate out a lot, and its very cheap to do so and there are some lovely restaurants around.
Our room was spotless, cleaned every day & always with clean sheets & towels. The staff are fantastic and love the British - there were quite a lot of French/german staying, but we always got a sun lounger! The pool was quite cold, even though it was supposed to be "heated in winter" oneday it was only 11degrees.
The location of the hotel is great, close to shops, restaurants & beach & theres plenty to do.
All in all, we had a fab week, didn't want to come home! I wouldn't stay in this hotel again but we will definatly come back to Agadir next year if we can. If you are going to stay in this hotel i would suggest to not go All Inclusive.
3 star basic hotelfrom Juggy
We went all inclusive, wish we hadn't now as he ended up eating out on a few occassions. The food was very repititive and they did not cater for vegetarians. Lunch was pizza and chips every-day, desserts were the same. Dinner was basic as well.
However, the entertainment at the hotel was great, there were competitions during the day and daily evening shows for everyone.
The weather was great but the outdoor pool was meant to be heated and was very cold.
The hotel staff were friendly.
Overall we had a satisfactory stay at the Kenzi Europa but we were not impressed with the food at all.
Great evenings at Kenzi Europafrom Privatedancer
It's not a 5 star as you would expect in Europe - but is a an excellent 3/4 star with friendly staff and the evening entertainment was a hoot !
bar prices a a bit steep, but a good place for the "Dernier Pot"
before bed !
t even go there!from kerryad2876
Service was dreadful, with staff outright ignoring us and other holiday makers, and management refusing to take our complaints seriously, or deal with them.
We seriously considered going home early, and we weren't the only ones....
5 star disa-starfrom ms01
food was poor- actually it was terrible- we paid for half board yet after the first night preffered to eat out--was the costlier yet safer option..lets just say a few of us decided to eat in the hotel and needed imodium
the entertainment was a joke---on one night there was some big men doing the fullish monty--not exactly my cup of tea and on another night some women dressing their men up as mummies---ok if u like that kind of thing but wasnt for me!
the rooms- firstly you have all of 6 tv channels to choose from- poor variety and i couldnt even hear the news in english--terrible!
secondly the third bed in a three bed room had clearly been bought into a 2 bedroom room, firstly you could barely move in between the three beds and secondly it was a foldable bed! we paid for 5 star to sleep on a foldable bed!
thirdly you have to pay for the safe...i wont say no more about this!
fourthly the shower head had a mind of its own and kept swinging 90 degrees and hitting the shower curtain and over spilling onto the floor, so to shower you actually had to hold it down!
the hotel didnt allow you to take drinks into your rooms, so if you want to do this make sure you sneak them in and conceal them. youl have to do this given that prices within the hotel are twice that of the shop next to it! unbelievable
on a plus side nice location 5 mins from the beach, good pool which closes early though! and the staff are good and friendly especially the cleaner ladies..bless them!
and for all of you who even think about shopping in the little sukh opposite the hotel- dont they are tourist prices and they will charge you 500% more than what the thing is worth in the Sukh, so just jump in a petit taxi and ask the driver to take you to the sukh..then haggle and haggle hard...walk away and theyl call you back!
with cans ask them to put the meter on , we got done over more than once before we realised this!
A decent hotel overallfrom Gizza
Elsewhere: I would recommend visiting fishing port restaurants where you can get a plate full of fish for just over £2 but be sure to avoid table number 21 as you may be overcharged there.
Loved the Kenzifrom ScouseTomLiverpool
The hotel pool is of a good size and is cleaned every day, the surrounding gardens and grounds are immaculate with plnety of sun beds. Towels are provided by the pool attendants.
The rooms are of a very good standard and the bed linen and towels were changed every day.
We were on an all inclusive basis. The food was very good with a good variety of food at all meals. Soft drinks, beer and wine are served at lunch and dinner. The dinks at the bar were good with a choice of bottled beer or draught and local wines, whisky, vodka, gin and a type of pernod.
Whilst the other guests were mainly German, French and Polish the staff all spoke good English.
The beach is a 5 minute walk with the use of a pivate section for hotel guests.
There are a a variety of shops and restaurants around the hotel but not a vast amount, we were not hastled too much as we walked past them.
A visit to the souk is a must but make sure you tell the taxi driver (cost about £1.00) you want to go to the souk or he will take you to the "artisans souk". Make sure to haggle and start your offer at about a quarter of the sellers price. Inside the souk again we were not subjected to major hassle.
A day trip to Marrakesh is a good option but it is a long day getting picked up at 06:00 and returning at 23:00.
All in all we would recommend this hotel and Agadir.
What a dissapointment...from JohnMcGrath
The pool was again okay, thought it would be a lot bigger and they seemed to have ' water aeroics'(which consisted all of 3 people!) all the time!!
The food is okay nothing spectacular(which is what I was expecting being that it was 5 star!). we had a limited selection to the drinks and the size of the glass was ridiculous, two gulps and your drink was gone!!
The staff were freindly-ish but seemed to take more notice of the German and French that were staying there. We decided to eat out every night as there was nothing to do in the hotel that could cater for us(if you were 60+ you could sit in their 'SAGA' lounge and younger than 10 watch the 'entertainment')
In the end my partner and I were so fed up with this '5 star' hotel we decided to move hotels for the last 2 days of our holiday, the most enjoyable days we had.
So if you are over 60, enjoy repeat snake charmers and magicians doing the same over and over again and being constantly ignored by staff, I suggest the Kenzi Europa!!
Top Local Tips for Agadir
Berber evening If you visit Agadir it is well worth going to the berber evening. You will get picked up from your hotel and taken to a small 200 year old village. Here you get taken on a tour around the village looking at the traditional ways of living. For example the way they cook their food and make their own bread. After this you then get taken inside a little village house where you eat (with your hands and no plates!!) the homemade bread. Then comes the second course of fish cooked in the traditional ways. While you are enjoying this the red wine is free flowing!! You then get invitited outside to dance and watch the locals perform, which is good fun!! After the entertainment its time for the third course of chicken. You can then drink MORE wine and enjoy more dancing and live enterainment. After all this excitement you then get taken back to your hotel. If you do decide to go to Agadir this is something not ot missed!!
Hotel Tips Ibero Founty, Riu Tikida dunas and Riu Tikida Beach. All located together on best , most secure part of the beach. All very family friendly.
info for fellow ladies! make sure you cover up or you will get lots of unwelcome comments. you're ok round your pool but everywhere else you need to cover up.
