Top Local Tips for Nairobi
Places I enjoyed visiting, mainly in the Karen district of Nairobi The David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage is well worth a visit - open from 10.30 to 11.30 every morning for feeding the baby elephants. The Giraffe Sanctuary lets you hand feed giraffe if you aren't lucky enough to be staying at Giraffe Manor. Kazuri Beads is well worth a visit - you get a guided tour of the workshops to see how the beads are handmade, and the shop has a vast range of the necklaces and bracelets at a fraction of the price in the UK. Matt Bronze has a huge selection of locally made bronzes of all sizes and reasonable costs.
driving don't drive, traffic is awful.
