Home Away from Home
I first visited Pappilon in 2002, I was going there for the next 5 years atleast once a year or sometimes twice a year. Both my sons 9 and 4 know the hotel as our holiday home. In the past 3 years I deceided to sample other hotels on our Kenyan coast, Nothing soo far has matched Pappilon it's been like being away from home. The staff are great, food excellent, pool clean and rooms perfect, the animation team takes the day headed by George. The only down side is 2 years ago I made a reservation with a group of 6 families I wanted them to appreciate what they were missing. My booking was cancelled the last minute and I was forced is to look for alternative hotel which was no where near Pappilon, my family was unhappy. I hope this year I wont be dissapointed cauz I intend to spend my holiday there, Julius the assistant manager is great guy as well as George the animator and the chef and the waiters. This is a home away from home for my family and we miss it and all the staff. Tony Kariri

they suck
My Kenyan wife called Indiana from Nairobi. She was told by a nice lady it would be 7000 shillings for bed and breakfast for 2 nights. On Arrival they saw me a foreigner and it was suddenly 5000 shillings 2 nights bed and breakfast. We were surprised And commented it was cheap knowing how mombasa people try to milk foreigners. The next day we decide to book another night and are surprised to find we only paid one night not 2 and now owe 5000 shillings and being 9 pm we could go nowhere else. We had to pay and the next day we left. The boing card had been altered after we paid to say 5000 per night not for 2 nights. After we booked out we realized we had left a mobile phone charger and a sandal in the room. On return we were told the cleaner found nothing. The lady in the reception went to look in the room also finding nothing. On request she said she had no number for the cleaner and could not help. After a threat to write a letter to the general manager suddenly she thought she had the number somewhere. needles to say we had to buy a nwe charger and the sandal is still noowhere to be seen. I would not recomend this horel to anyone at all not foreigner or kenyan. We left and went to the kahama nearby who could not be faulted at all. The masai watchmen were so polite and helpfull. the reception also and cleaners and wait staff i can not praise highly enough. stay kahama not indiana. maybe because a kenyan owns kahama made the difference but i dont know.
