if you book the shuttle bus make sure you are there early otherwise said brits will pinch seats (by the way i am english) make sure you get any taxis to agree price before you leave, you have to try the hard rock cafe it is cheap to eat allthough drinks a bit pricy but then again you are on holiday enjoy yourselves, make sure you drink plenty of water you will need it,it is readily available from all bars and rests.

overall it was wonderful, and i definately want to go back. it was a relaxing, hot, beautiful area which anyone would love.
Grand - only by namefrom bruce1407
Our room was a Junior Suite and believe me it was all a suite could be, fantastic, and 'very clean, very clean' - no need for the backed beans or coffee mate!!! The only down side - the constant knocking at the door over the first couple of days where staff either asked if everything was ok or was the room clean... YES!!! for the 90th time!!
The resort is in no means lacking and covers a vast area, but a lovely shuttle 'Train' travels around the complex all day. I would not recommend this resort for those looking for a beach holiday, as the beach although great lacks one crucial element - the ocean.... The resort is situates on a Coral shelf which means that to reach any form of water greater than ankle depth you need to take a 500m walk along the purpose built walk way out to the reef. But this is well worth it for the simple fact that the fish are spectacular!!
The pools (three of them) make up for the lack of ocean, but be advised - its not the Germans you need to be worried about - its the Russians, get up any later than 06:00 to get a sun lounger and you will be surely disappointed. The grassed areas however are lush and often a welcome respite from the throng of Speedo’s 'Ruskies'... seeing is believing!!!
One further complaint I would mention - although the resort boasts many restaurants, its very difficult to get around all of them as there seems to be a swing in favour towards our eastern friends over who gets access to the select restaurants... The Resort staff were a mix of local Egyptian and Eastern European so I guess you can see where I going here, if your not on the list, you aint getting in Comrade!!!
For those seeking adventure below the surface of the Red Sea I would not recommend the on site Dive Centre, one trip and I had virtually signed up for 3 courses without even saying yes... The (German) company seemed hell bent on getting you to sign up for as many courses as possible so come the end of day one I was off that boat. We found Red Sea Diving College to be by far more professional and altogether a pleasure to dive with.
To sum up – the Grand Azur is an Oasis in the desert that offers warmth, comfort and lots of smiling faces just remember to set your alarm if you want to reserve your spot by the pool.

Any positive reviews of the hotel must be made by individuals used to an unrated caravan park in Grantham. We are used to 5 star accommodation and we were severely disappointed, however, on a positive note the staff are very pleasant, but the service is slow and cold drinks...well forget it...try the lobby bar for chilled only. We were VIP guests and still unhappy with our holiday...we will not use LTI again. We will stick to IBEROSTAR from now on, they provide 1st class everything and even make sure that all nationalities are catered for during entertainment, dining, everything.
If you still decide to travel to the grand azure, you are guarenteed a giggle from maybe 2:30am when the towels go on the sunbeds.....yes they were GERMAN.
LOBBY BAR...FANTASTIC PEOPLE, MOSTAFA, AHMED, SAYED and MOHAMMED are all so wonderful but this still cannot take away our total lack of satisfaction. The Egyptian people are so very nice and really like the English, we cannot fault their attempts to please but there was not enough staff to cater for the guests and after the bombings the staff numbers were reduced further as many guests were cancelling their accommodation.
CHILD FACILITIES....POOLS 10/10
OVERALL ....5.5/10. we will not return or recommend to others as there are far better holidays available.

And as for the food there was more choice than a top restaurant in england and excellent to.The grounds to this hotel plus its pools catered for young as well as mature ages and again well maintained and clean, its beach and sand area were a delight to walk along .
Even though it was very hot most days the waiters on the beach area's would not like you to be without a drink or two around your sunbeds.
We have and will recommend this hotel to friends and people we know who are interested in going to sharm el sheikh
Great hotel and holiday!!!from hollydolly11
We stayed in room 2107 which overlooks the quietest pool and is right near one of the swim up bars!!! The room was lovely and spacious and was always clean. We went on this holiday to relax and we certainly were able to do that. There are activities during the day which looked good but we were too lazy to bother joining in!
The main pool is the best as it is beautifully designed with plenty of shallow areas for kids or for just lying soaking up the sun. There are deeper areas for swimming too. There are always plenty of sun loungers available but if you want a parasol you need to get up early (7am) as these are quickly taken and when it is 40 degrees every day you need some shade!
The beach was quite nice but the sand is very gritty so wear beach shoes. The jetty out to the end of the coral is good as you can see all kinds of fish without going in the sea. If you do go snorkeling the range of fish you will see at the edge of the reef is fantastic - highly recommended.
The food at the hotel is usually very good but sometimes a bit hit and miss. In the Italian, Chinese and Seafood restaurants the food is very good and hot. We did not eat in the Arabian or the Bedouin tent. In the main buffet the food is good and when it is hot it is lovely but sometimes it is quite cool which means that food that is probably very nice isn't that appetising. This is a shame as the food quality and choice is good it just sometimes needs to be hotter!!! The snack bars for lunch are good as the food is freshly cooked. The pizzas near the beach are made to order - yum! The snacks by the main pool are also good.
A word of warning - you will get an upset stomach! This is nothing to do with the hotel. We spoke to people who had stayed at other hotels and it seems it is very common in this area of the world. It didn't spoil our holiday but we both felt rough for a couple of days - take a plentiful supply of imodium or equivalent and you will be fine. We didn't drink the water, cleaned our teeth with bottled water and didn't drink excessive amounts of alcohol so I'm not sure what causes it.
We went into Naama Bay three times and ate in the Hard Rock Cafe twice and McDonalds once and both were very cheap. The local pavement cafes are also good and inexpensive. We didn't get as much hassle from shopkeepers as we expected - a polite no thankyou is all that is required. If you do want to buy anything be prepared to haggle hard though. If you are going to buy snorkelling gear buy it in Naama not in the hotel as you will get a better deal. We also recommend quad biking in the desert - a good trip for 3 hours at sunset and only £25 sterling per bike which seats two. We didn't do any other trips but were told by others that the cairo tour is good.
Overall the holiday was great value for money and we would visit this hotel again!
Hello to Tracy, Nick, Lindsey, Lee, Stuart and Aimee. Had a great time with you all and hope to meet again!!!!!!!!

If you need a break in a tropical paradise then this is the place to go. The hotel grounds are stunning, a walk along the jetty to see the fish is priceless and the scenery breathtaking.
Our room was like an apartment! And well maintained, the sheets are changed daily, who ever said men can’t do house work? Men do everything here, the whole fortnight we were their we only saw one woman and she was in the restaurant.
I read lots of reviews about the hotel on different websites before I went - that really made me fear the food and that it would be a real issue - but it wasn’t - we were absolutely fine and with a massive selection of food to eat from Italian, Chinese, Fish, Pizza....etc - we were totally spoilt for choice. Also I saw that the drinks were commented on but whatever you drink you are in for a treat as the bar staff seem to pour it like its water! And the cocktails aren’t bad either.
you didn’t have to fight for sun beds as there are plenty to go round, and the staff were lovely - its such a friendly place that we got to talk to all sorts of people - we would definitely go back.
The entertainment was a bit lacking, though the animation team really worked hard, but didn’t pester you. The staff are poorly paid, so regular tips of a 10 or 20 Egyptian pounds (£1 or £2 English) ensure that you are well looked after, and they are so friendly whether you tip them or not
If you like it HOT Egypt is your kind of place, 40++ every day. Thank goodness for that nice sea breeze.
. In all, this place is exceptional and great value for money well worth a visit.
