Loved it...

from mrsozzy
Stayred here fro 11 nights in August there was still building work going on - however not that bad to affect our holiday, spotlessly clean, great friendly staff, although my only moan would be the food, im not a great meat eater so sound the choice a bit repetitive.
Weather Fab around 45 degrees most days.

The beach is accessible through the sister hotel across the road and your AI is accepted at the beach bar.
Great Holiday - would definately go back

Not Ready!

from SullyMerthyr
We tried to change hotels before we went, due to bad reports, but Thomson refused, so we tried to go with an open mind. However, all the rumours of building work and lack of available facilities were true - this hotel is still nowhere near ready and Thomson should not yet be using it! There is a huge building site adjacent to pool area, with ground work and heavy machinery, separated from holiday makers by a mere 8 foot high tarpaulin screen. One day a huge cloud of dust blew over and settled on the pool and guests! The hotel does not yet have an international line so you cannot phone home. The reception desk and bar in lobby are now fitted - they were being drilled and hammered into place as guests were trying to enjoy drinks one evening! The Chinese and Italian restaurants are now open and the food is good, but all other facilities listed in the brochure - 24 hour snacks in lobby, tennis, football, table tennis, gym, health club and aqua park - are unavailable. You can use the beach, gym and aqua park at the sister hotel opposite, but it is quite far to walk, crossing a dual carriageway, and you can only have drinks there at the beach bar. On a more positive note, the Tropicana Club WILL be a fantastic hotel once finished - the rooms are lovely, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food and service are good. However, we are doubtful as to whether the hotel will be suitable for families with children even when complete due to lack of activities.

enjoyed a great 2 week holiday

from butcher68
Just returned 23rd Aug 2008 from a two week break at azure club.
The hotel is still being built, they opened the Italian and Chinese restaurant last week but still have construction going on behind blue hoarding. That said it did not overly effect our holiday, a few times you could hear the machinery but not often.
FOOD - food is good but if you are expecting English food stay at home. Breakfast same every day - omelette and fried eggs came top on our list - white beans - hard as bullets don't expect Heinz.
Dinner big choice of food all well cooked and covered so no flies have gone near.
Pool - no toilets near pool although we have been told they are building some. Luckily our room was ground floor and had patio entrance so easily accessible. Great to have swim up bar as we often bobbed near the pool keeping cool drinking and people watching. Night time be careful as mosquitoes have bitten people to pieces - suggest you take repellent or as in our case see pharmacist opposite who can supply a spray called OFF its amazing kept mosseys at bay.
Animation team play loud music around the pool during the day -so not for the traveller expecting a quite ambience. (not sure if played so loud to cover building noise??)
Beach - opposite in azure resort, you need to walk through the hotel to reach it. There are about four water slides across the road but we were unable to use - the kids got to the top and were told they could go down the once but not to use again - once at the beach a long looooong walk to end of jetty great for burning calories after breakfast and if you enjoy a bit of amateur snorkelling amazing fishes swimming even in shallow water. I would recommend you take some sort of shoe as coral very hard and flip flops too slippery for walking too and in water ( i brought a pair for £5 equivalent and worth every penny)
Main bar in hotel lacks atmosphere and slow service ( no ice for drinks!! and tonic water a rare offering)
Evening entertainment - worst i have seen from animation team very amateurish - that said we travelled with our 10 yr old son and he and his friends found it very entertaining - guess you cant please every one.
Suffered with stomach problems as did most people there, but from what I saw food well looked after and bottled water handed out when ever requested. I guess it had more to do with lots of rich food and body not copping. Pharmacy again came to rescue with tablets that worked straight away.
Overall the service could do with a bit of attention in main bar and restaurant, the pool bar staff extremely friendly and helpful.
We are planning to go back as compared to across the road this place was friendly and not tired looking. It will be interesting to see how hotel copes once the other 5 blocks of rooms are open.

t wait to back !!!!!

Magic

from jan1960
Arrived at this hotel and as we walked in the first thought were WOW. The lobby was fantastic and we were greeted by friendly staff. The standard bedroom overlooking the pool area was fab too. Huge bed plently of space and a big bathroom with walk in shower. Everything brand new and it felt great. The pool attendants Allah, Mohammed and Ahmed deserve a big thank you. They could not be more helpful, bringing your towels, moving beds, blowing up lilo's and making you laugh through out the day. The pool was excellent walk in to the pool bar very handy for the non swimmers and youngsters alike.
Restuarant was ok and plenty to choose from and fresh pasta every night. Staff in the restuarant were great, friendly wasn't in it. Brought you your drinks without even asking for them.
The hotel is nearly finished and the windows were finished when we left and part of the building was still cornered off and you could not hear any of the building work being carried out.
They provided a free bus to Naama Bay but on the return the bus was alway late by about 30 minutes.
The sister hotel over the road is huge and very very busy but you must go and see it and have a go at snorkling it's amazing.
Would definately pay this hotel another visit.

Hotel not ready

from stgazza
This hotel is quite simpley not ready to be open yet. I think a realistic opening date should be 1st September. There are workmen everywhere and bare electrical cables all over the place. The hotel reception has not yet arrived so they are using a temporary worktop. The reception bar has also not arrived yet and again is operating from a temporary worktop. The drinks machines have not been installed so all the drinks are from warm bottles with no ice avalible. The italian & chinese restaraunt have not been built yet .The facilities offered on the website is for the grand Azure which is across a double duel carriageway with cars zooming along.when you get there the drinks are not included even though we paid all inclusive. The dust from the construction work is unbareable. The swiming pool is nice.
please consult your travel agent and ask to be moved if your stay is before 1st September when i think the may then be ready.

Restuarant was ok the only down side but I am a fussy eater so I wouldn't take much from my opinion. Staff in the restuarant were great, friendly wasn't in it. How Lucky We Were

from bossyboots1
We returned from 2 weeks stay at the Tropicana Azure Club Hotel on Thursday 10th July & what a fantastic time we have had! The hotel opened on 26th June & we transferred there after spending just one night at the sister hotel Tropicana Grand Azure Resort just across the road, which we had booked with Thomas Cook. Although supposedly 5* it was like Butlins in the sunshine with grubby inferior accomodation etc. etc! After complaining VERY LOUDLY we were asked to look at the Azure Club Hotel. IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!
The whole place was spotlessly clean & elegant. Superb foyer, gardens, pool area & accomodation. The Dining room was also simplistically elegant but the food was another matter. Even from the first day, when the hotel had a total of 10 guests including us the amount & variety of food available was amazing, everything was freshly prepared, cooked & served at each meal time. Absolutely Fantastic! Something for everyone.
The best feature of the hotel however is the staff. I must mention Mr Fatah (dining room) Anastasia (reception) & Dassia & friends (animation team) all of whom helped make our holiday such fun. THANK YOU.x We hope to see you all again next year.

booked to go to this hotel with future travel on the 15/06/08 to the 29/06/08 supposed to be on beach, we booked this on the 01/06/08 nothing said before we went to are dismay when we arrived we were taken to hotel only to be turned away at the entrance as it was not open and still a partial building site . we were taken to the tropicana grand oasis but being away from were we wanted tobe we refused to stay after a couple of hours we were taken to the rhana resort in the same area as our booked hotel we were dropped off and told it was as good as the one we had booked ,but after checking in we were taken to a what we would call a small bedroom compared to other hotels in sharm we have stayed in. so we asked again to be moved and next day taken to millenium hotel were after all the messing about decided to try and make the best of our holiday. to go back to tell you about the hotel we booked trpicana azure club we went down when we heard it had opened its doors to be greeted by the friendy staff who showed us round it is very nice spacious reception area small buffet restaurant nice large swimming pool beautifull standard b/room with wet room shower large size, and very large family room.but at the moment the al-a-carte restuarants are not finished and still a lot of building going on .
