On my own to my very first holiday, after reading some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive but I was very impressed with the resort, the hotel, the staff and the food. I was determined not to get an Egyptian tummy, or bitten by mossies. All the English holiday makers kept an eye on me I was hassled a bit by the locals but expected that. It was the best relaxation that I have ever had, the weather was beautiful 22-31.The staff on Christmas Eve were amazing and worked all day to ensure that we had a good banquet. The staff work so hard from early a.m. to late in the p.m. Thanks for a great holiday.

When I came to pay the bill for my meals, I discovered was surcharged on the days when the nightly stage act was visible from my table, regardless of whether I wanted to hear/see them. My room was basic with a TV but had broken fittings and needed a good clean. The bathroom was particularly unclean. I found that the general atmosphere was impersonal and unwelcoming. By Sharm\'s standards, all of the prices at the resort were unreasonably high. I spent as little time as possible there by joining in with the dive boats operated by Oonas Dive next door to the Sonesta Beach Resort.
