Happy hols at sharm inn AMEREIN

from silvershoes
Have just returned from the amerin hotel and had a very restful holiday,In contrast to the one bad review we really have very little to gripe about. Rooms are spacious, bathrooms fine, super hot showers, Hair dryer in bathroom ,mini fridge in room .Super swimming pool cleaned daily by two lads namely Star & Mohammid, Towells are provided for the sun beds and the lads once they know were you want to be around the pool will put your clean towells on them daily. Well worth tipping them, Rooms are cleaned daily with clean bedding and towells. The young lads who clean do amazing thing with the towells, the last day we even had a large crocodile with the tv remote holding its mouth open and my sun glasses on. My only concern with the rooms were the top cover on the bed which was very stained , others also mentioned this so very obvious not changed, so i guess the blanket was the same. Note to the lovely Manager ADEL SALMAN;; If you could make sure these were cleaned every time there were new occupants in the room i would then say that every thing was near perfect. The reception area is gorgous complete with waterfall. Upstairs Blue Bar is very relaxing and the barman there very charming. All in all a great place to stay in sharm, we hope to be going back in Sept/Oct. One last warning MOZZIES ARE RAMPENT,TAKE LOTS OF SPRAYS WITH YOU.although there is a chemist next door who is very good if you have a gippy Tummy. By SILVER SHOES

Fab hotel - would definately go again

What a great hotel. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you, the pool was always spotlessly clean & enough beds & parasols for everyone. The rooms were much bigger than expected & looked out over the pool & pool bar.

The food from the pool bar was really good - not so sure about the restaurant though. Ate there the first night we arrived - was OK but not worth the £. There is a great fish restuarant out of the back of the hotel (it belongs to the hotel i think) which was really lovely, and over the road is a great, modern & funky deli type place... lovely to walk over in a morning & grab a coffee & pastry, or lunchtime for fab sandwiches.

The rooms were cleaned every day & the guy used to make fun shapes out of towels - it was always great to see what they came up with next!

I would definately recommend this hotel to ANYONE - good for couples and families alike.. only a 10 min (if you got a slow driver) taxi ride from Sharm and 10 mins the opposite way to Old Sharm.

Beware Very Bad Hotel

from Yo_Mofo
Stayed at this hotel at Christmas(Never again) Had meals and drinks added onto bill that were not ours, had phone calls charged to our room that were not made, had money changed at hotel later told by reception that they had given me to much. Pool is not heated and was very cold. Partner got food poisoning and to top it all hotel manager called me a Liar. Under no Circumstances be fooled, Hotel does look nice inside and is clean but staff are idiots and manager likes taking tourists for what they have got.

Fab hotel

from ljbrennan
I have just returned from a week at this hotel in Sharm and have to say that we were very very happy with it. I am not saying this from just someone who has gone to Sharm for the 1st time - it is my 4th and I have tended to stay near Sharks Bay as there are excellent coral reefs from the hotel beaches.

Sharm Inn is an extremely friendly and quiet hotel. There is no kids club or major night life but that is exactly what I wanted.

The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help you. All you need to do is smile and be friindly and they will look after you for whatever you ask for.

The food and drink is extremely reasonable - lunch of a bowl of pasta is only £2 which compared to other hotels in Sharm is ridiculously cheap. The food is very nice but in particular the sea food restaurant at the hotel is excellent. The fish is fresh and I recommend the Amerein Platter which is enough for 2 people if you don't want to feel stuffed at the end. The evening buffet was nice and had a range of Egyptian dishes which was nice to taste some local food.

Rooms were clean and the laundry was fine. The rooms were of a good size and nearly all of them overlooked the pool area.

The pool is an average size but I will warn you that it is not heated so be warned that it will be cold at this time of year. It is very hard to find any heated pool in Sharm though as in the summer months it is just not needed. The pool staff were very accomodating and for a small price (32 for the week) they put our towels out every morning to save us the hassle. One of them will even do a lovely massage by the pool for only £6 which is very reasonable.

The hotel, like all others in Sharm do not allow you to take in food or drink but the easiest thing to do is play along and not cause hassel. Just place it in your bag and don't be obvious about it. After all they want us to spend our money at the hotel so we have to understand why they can be difficult.

2 minutes walk from the hotel is a fab sandwich bar with sandwiches being made fresh (ideal for the plane home) and there are also some supermarkets charging 30p for 1.5 litres of water.

There is a courtesy regular bus from the hotel to the sea and back but I didn't go so I cannot comment on it.

A taxi in to Naama Bay is just £2. This is also the same on the return journey. Just get a taxi from opposite the taxi rank as there is less hassel and easier chance of negotiation.

I recommend Wave for Diving as I have done many excursions with them and it has all been fab and safe.

Basically, after my rambling, the hotel and staff are fab if you want a quiet base. Hope you have a great holiday!!

Great service at SharmInn Amarein Sharm el Sheikh

Have just returned from fortnight's stay at SharmInn Amarein. Warmest of welcomes, great service any time of day, friendly staff and excellent food. Cant speak too highly of Mohammed in Reception and Ashraf in Restaurant/Blues Bar and the way they all dealt with queries and problems, including a padlock on my case!

Inn the 2 Moons Charm

from A TripAdvisor Member
Sharm El Sheikh??? No………….. You should say: SHARMINN and not any SHARMINN.. Only SHARMINN AMAREIN!!!! The name reflects its reality. You are deep in the Charm and under Two Moons (Amarein), the real moon and the hotel’s moon effect.. You dream, you live the reality, but still in Sharminn Amarein! One thing I just regret is that I only had 4 days to pass there!! But I will keep on repeating my stay at anytime I have the chance. Early January, I decided to have some days in Sharm El Sheikh, and with no 2nd thought I went to Sharminn Amarein. The hospitality is an oasis that you plunge in, the care and smiling welcoming of the whole staff is excellent… The remarkable attention and supervision given by the owner himself by following up on every single thing keeps the guests relaxed. The taste which is put in all the details of the decoration, starting from the new reception with the water falls continuing to the different outlets (pool bar, fish restaurant where you can be served the best and most tasty fish and seafood you ever dream about, main restaurant where I was daily having a very tasty breakfast, the tent with chichas and the blue’s bar)is very particular.. You cannot avoid being under the Charm of the rooms themselves where you have your privacy inside a very researched taste in colors, decorations, lightings, and if you stay at your balcony, as I was doing daily in the morning in front of the wonderful swimming pool, you will be in your peaceful heaven watching the birds all around. The cleanliness of the rooms and the whole hotel is very particular. I cannot omit to say that anytime you ask for any outdoor activity, you just need to name it, and the staff will be serving you the best, by organizing all the details for you…
I am really in short of words and my mind is still in Sharminn Amarein, looking forward to go back and enjoy it and its hospitality!!
Don’t look further, just book Sharminn Amarein and you will find yourself under the real Charm & Inn…side the Moons… but just the ones belonging to Sharminn Amarein…

So close but yet so far

Overall I guess its not a bad hotel. We spent a couple of weeks here on a B&B basis, and thought they almost got it right. But not quite.

On the whole the staff are friendly, the rooms are reasonably clean, and the food OK.

My gripes are about some petty things that they do. Like the rule that says you can't bring ANY food or drinks onto the premises. It's --- hot there but according to them I'm not allowed to carry a bottle of water thru reception into the hotel? Get a life! (Just take a beach bag and bring whatever you like in with you).

Other petty things include cleaning staff who ignore do not disturb signs day after day. Not what you need after a late night.

The mini bar was full when we arrived, but never refilled (and I wasn't allowed to bring my own stuff in!). At the end of the first week the grumpy manager (see below) emptied the rest of the minibar, made me sign on the spot for what we'd had, then didn't refill it. Weird.

I can't comment too much about the food as we only ate one dinner in the restaurant, and it was standard buffet style food. Breakfasts were 7-10am, and par for the course. (PS I challenge anyone to get the manager to smile at breakfast time, he really needs to turn his bed around so he can get out the other side)

The diving centre didn't open its doors while we we were there, so can't comment about that either. I recommend the Camel Dive Centre in Naama Bay however, one of the better outfits I've dived with. Good roof bar too.

There are always taxis outside the hotel. The going rate is 25LE (Egyptian Pounds)(about £2.50 GBP) to go into Naama Bay, and 30 to get back. On the way back they start negotiations at 50-100, but stick to 30 and they'll give in. You could probably get it for 25, but £0.50p to us is nothing, it's a lot more to a local.

A couple of useful hints when you're in Sharm:

If you want to do a day trip to Petra in Jordan (and I highly recommend it), check out the flights to Aqaba, and bus from there. We did the Thomas Cook bus-all-the-way version, and spent 8 1/2 hours each way for 3 hours in Petra).

Get the optional US$15 visa when you arrive in Sharm airport so that you can go outside the resort. And if you go to Petra you need to get another one on the way back, otherwise you can't do day trips outside the area afterwards... as we found out when trying to get on a plane to Cairo. nuff said.

You can organise a day trip to Cairo either through one of the many touts, or get a taxi to the Karnak agency in Old Sharm (the official agency of Egyptair). The flights were about £90pp, and for an extra £2.50 they threw in a guide and taxi for the day. The guide and driver are worth their weight in gold, otherwise Cairo can be an "interesting" place to get round by yourself.

1.5l bottles of water are less than 2LE in some supermarkets, 15LE in others, 500ml Sakara beers range from 8LE to 30LE in restaurants, shop around.

You can sit by the pool all day if thats your cup of tea, but don't claim you've "been to Egypt" if that's all you do - it's a great desination, enjoy the suicidal taxi drivers, have fun with the touts, and definately have a look at the marine life.

The hotel? I'll probably book elsewhere next time.

Best Hotel in Namma Bay

This is our second visit to the Sharminn Amarein Hotel because we were so pleased with our first visit. We even brought along another couple knowing full well that they would enjoy the expereince. The staff are superb and get to know you very quickly so that you feel very much at home very quickly. The hotel's rooms and facilites are excellnet, well maintained and spotless. The resturant is excellent value for money and provides a wide variety and choice of foods. The hotel also provides many services such as courtesy buses, advice on what to do and where to go, taxis, money exchange, etc.

I cannot fault this hotel at all and in fact, having visited some of the 5* hotels in the area, I would still recommend the Sharminn because it is friendlier and the food is undoubtedly of a superior quality.

We shall be back next year and the next. .....
