from egyptiancatVery attentive staff!!!!
from madgenutThe staff are very attentive by the pool, if they get used to you they ensure that your sunbeds are laid out for you each day and no-one else nabs them!!! A little costa del sol, but without having to get out of bed at the crack of dawn! We actually ended up with 4 sundeds by the end of the first week, 2 in the shade/sun!!!! (They even moved the beds around for us in the direction of the sun when we wanted....I think they were bored!)It was very quiet, but we liked that...and the personable service the staff offered, they all said hello and remembered the excursions you were going on which made you feel very welcome and part of the furniture, the pool food was good and hot bearing in mind they had to traipse a bit to go and get it for you down in the main restaurant.
First night as we were late in we decided to try the hotel Palm restaurant (where breakfast is held), the food was ok, had buffet chinese style (approx £25 including wine), was quite acceptable and plenitful...the wine is something else however, if it's egyptian I would avoid it as it does tend to taste a little like paint stripper, unless your prepared to pay £28 for a semi decent cotes to rhone don't bother, stick to the beer (Meister is quite nice!).
The hotel has got two excellent restaurants however outside, the Mexican is really good, great atmosphere and attentive service, whilst the Little Buddha next door offers thai/sushi menu, this is top end price for sharm what you would expect to pay at home, but well worth it, linen napkins for a start...but take your torch as it can be hard to read the menu in the dim lights, turns into a nightclub/disco upstairs at midnight....really nice and funky!!
Overall the hotel is very adequate for the resort, right in the heart of Naama Bay, so in walking/stumbling distance of the restaurants/bars. Very clean (lost count of the amount of times the reception floor was being polished!!).
One word of advice, the staff (as in most hotels) are hell bent on tips....and no wonder (av wage = 250 egyptian pound per month (ie £25!) We gave £5 at the end of each week to staff (Pool, restaurant, pool bar, cleaners) etc as we thought this was more than fair, when you chat to them you realise we don't have it so bad!!
The only thing that let the hotel down was the entertainment, whether it was because it was quiet I don't know. But having a bit of line dancing and dodgy karaoke a holiday does not make!!

from A TripAdvisor MemberNice hotel shame about the service !!
from TISSUEHANKIEWe had been to Sharm el sheikh before and had seen this hotel and thought it looked immaculate so decided to book it, but sadly the outward glorious facade hides a badly run hotel.
Firstly to be fair we had emailed in advance to request specific room requirements which they did provide.
The rooms and shower room were beautiful -the airconditioning was superb- the bed a lovely 6 foot double!
The rooms were very well presented and large - plenty of space, large well furnished balcony and sea view - one of the few hotels in Naama bay to offer nearly all their rooms facing the sea which was lovely. The maid service was excellent !
The pool area was good and the beach was private with comfy sunbeds and fluffy towels - excellent entertainment team who worked hard everyday - remembered you from day one but thankfully took 'no' for an answer! They love Volleyball!!
Beach sandy but a slowly dying coral reef in front of the beach which some idiots were trying to ride a pedalo across without regard for the reef life. Yet another piece probably broken and destroyed.
The Health Spa was superb - we would definately recommend a massage the surroundings are really beautiful and 5 star - class !
It is just such a shame that the dining room, food, and bar service was simply awful. Admittedly we were surrounded by mainly Arabs (whose children thought that to take everything off the breakfast buffet and then cover it in honey and leave it in the centre of their table was nomal) and they of course had the edge as they spoke the same language!
There were no clean tables as the waiters did not clear the dirty tables away immediately etc so you were left standing there without any direction from the waiters, or ended up clearing your own table to find somewhere to eat.
The Pool bar staff were always complaining about the bad management- for example the new stock was not delivered until 1000 am and then had to be unpacked and put into the fridges- be cool enough to serve at 1030 - but only one waiter was on duty trying to achieve this, rather than restock the night before. Also the menus were out of date and the prices all different,so you thought you were overcharged. The bar food was COLD when you got it as it had to come from the hotel's kitchen which was almost an impossibility in the heat of the summer- in fact we still dont know how they managed to serve cold chips in 54C!!
The food in the beach restaurant was very well presented and the service better than in breakfast or in the bar -still a little laid back though but immaculate marble floors on the beach!!
The entertainment programme especially at night seemed to be well attended and was normally followed by arabs in the pool at midnight when the pool temperature was still a pleasant 37C!!!
We felt overall that this was a beautiful hotel lacking in strong management and therefore basic service to its customers was denied which was a shame, as the hotel itself is in a good position (about 10 minute walk from the strip in Naama Bay) is well maintained, has beautiful
rooms and gardens but is just lacking in basic customer service.
Good point its not too far from an excellent dive school -oonas!!

egyptian visa if you know you are definatly not going out of the sinai on trips to Cairo luxor or ras mohammed national park then dont waste time & money on an egyptian visa. you will get a sinai stamp for free at immigration......... you can still go camel treking, quad biking, st catherines monastary & boat trips
Be prepared to take your time! Some people complain about being hassled by shopkeepers. This is all about attitude - YOURS! Take your time, be polite to shopkeepers and be perpared to treat shopping as an entertainment experience in its own right, not just smash and grab for souvenirs! BargaIning is good fun and can lead to making some interesting friends! Great bargains are t-shirts, jewellery and leather goods.
Sinai Star in Old Sharm The seafood platter is enough for two people and is excellena and all for £15.00

Offer was B & B. Staff was great and friendly, parking is the only problem is you have a car as the parking has a capacity of +/- 15 cars only.
Beach spot is among the best for snorkling, wonderful fish.
Beach service is excellent and they serve great food.
Swimming pool is cool as well.
The rooms to avoid are the ones overloking the pool as every night they have a live show lasting til around 2 am, therefore noisy for poolside rooms.
Our room was an oasis of peace overlooking a garden.
All in all.... HIGLY RECOMMENDED.
