Super hotel

from jamstrat
Stayed for a week at this lovely hotel. Friendly, efficient staff, spacious and airy rooms, delightful grounds, pleasant warm pool with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. Private beach, also with loads of beds and brollies. Breakfast was a superb buffet with a wonderful range of hot and cold food. Beach bar and snack bar, also pool side bar and snacks, plus several good restaurants. As the hotel is so close to all the shops, we ate out every evening. There is an amazing choice of restaurants and bars. One we would heartily recommend - it rejoices in the highly unlikely name of "The Carvery" but is simply great - they have a flambe chef who does amazing steaks and marvellous crepes Suzettes. It is not expensive and the local wine is very drinkable. To find it - exit the hotel at the beach exit and turn right and walk along the beach side path for about 200-300 yeards. It's well worth it.

Sharm el Sheikh was a bit cool in the evenings, but otherwise everything was great.

loved it

have just returned from a stay in this wonderful hotel. was with my partner and two children aged 11 and 9. we stayed in the sports part of hotel main road v busy to cross but golf carts available to transport you across. the hotel its self was lovely and the staff were extemely helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. no shortage of fresh towels in rooms and at pool and beach.

the breakfast was delicious with something to suit everyone...and the movenpick ice-cream out of this world..boys consumed many daily!!

couldnt fault anything about hotel or the staff and will definately be returning as soon as posssible.

The hotel is split into two parts, one directly onto the beach and the other sports section across the road. We stayed in the sports section. I'll start with the downsides of the hotel ( not many ) If you stay in the sport section you have to cross a rather busy dual carriageway to get to the beach or naama bay shops etc and if you have small children in tow I think it could scare the living daylights out of you as there is a knack to it. I found it a bit noisy due to pumps running in buildings outside of the hotel. This part of the hotel is slightly tatty in comparison to the front part but nothing to worry about. There are also the call to prayers by loadspeaker during the day and night. There are a huge number of staff who will smile, talk, help and please you in any way possible. It is extremely clean and cleaned very regularly. The breakfast has a huge choice and we also ate some evening meals which were also very good. The pools are brill and if you want food or drinks all you need to do is raise your hand and a waiter will appear. Nothing seemed too much trouble for these people even the security guards who WILL search your bags were happy, pleasant, smiley people. Although not quite 5 star I have nothing but praise for this hotel, staff and location and would without doubt return. Try the ice cream ( enough said ) The entertainment by the russians made us laugh but as it was not supposed to be funny we had some strange looks. If you are thinking about this hotel go for it but try and get into the front half you will not be dissapointed

Sharm-el-Sheikh at its best

from Ritanbob
We stayed at the hotel for one week. The location is excellent with everything within walking distance. The staff are first class and very obliging. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was good and plentiful. The rooms and grounds were kept very clean. Everything was on the flat and very suitable for the elderly or those with walking difficulties. The weather was first class and the pool and beach area excellent. Altogether a very enjoyable holiday and one we have no hesitation in recomending.

If you like great service--stay at Movenpick.

Service at this hotel was excellent. It was the best location in Naama Bay because you were in the middle of everything, but it was still very private. The layout of the hotel is very different. The rooms are in a villa cluster style (meaning each building contains about 6-8 rooms). You do not have breathtaking views of the water from the rooms, however, the service and location make up for it. I traveled all of Egypt on this trip and Movenpick had the cleanest rooms, best showers (bath), most comfortable mattress, and the most professional staff I encountered while in Egypt. The beach was gorgeous, enough chaise lounges for everyone. The buffet breakfast was great, the other restaurants at the resort were fabulous too. I can't write enough good things about the resort. See you next year Movenpick.

Excellent hotel, great location

from nicandjim
My fiance and I have just come back from a week at the Jolie Ville and we had an excellent time. We arrived on the Sunday evening and from the start we felt totally relaxed at this resort. Staff were extremely friendly at all times and were always smiling!

The room was fine for a week - not quite 5* like some of the brochures said but more than suitable for a weeks holiday. The resort is quite large so there was quite a walk from our room to the main areas but as the surroundings are lovely it didn't bother us at all.

Lovely pool area, good sporting facilities, had a lovely massage - £17 for 30 minutes. Hotel is right on the beach and offers lots of activities eg: glass bottom boats, windsurfing, diving etc.

Buffet breakfast was great, lots of choice and very fresh. Ate at the pool bar a couple of lunchtimes and food was good there also.
Hotel is in a fantastic location for the main strip and we ate out every night - highly recommend the steaks at Camel Bar. Also cocktails at the Buda Bar and burgers at the Hard Rock cafe! Food and drink prices are generally very cheap, the only downside was the price of imported wines - about £40 for a bottle that would cost £8 at home.

We took a taxi to the Hyatt hotel one night and we thoroughly recommend doing this. Beautiful resort with a choice of bars and restaurants and made a nice change to the main tourist area.

Weather was excellent - averaging 25-30 degrees, gets quite cold in the evenings so take a jacket!
Overall, a great holiday and we couldn't recommend it enough for a winter sun holiday. Can't wait to go back!

fantastic place

just returned yesterday from the best two weeks in a very long time!!!
where to start????
sharm air port interesting! dont let the locals con you into getting a trolley as they charge you for it and take loo roll to use in toilet as they will charge you for that to but other than that all ok.
the first thing you notice when you arrive at the movenpick is the bright red sign, a bit tacky looking but this is its only down fall.
on arrival welcomed by our rep adel (auite funny egyiptian guy). we were shown into the reception area given a welcome drink whilst we checked in and our suite cases loaded on to a golf type cart.
we were then whisked of on the golf cart with our cases to our room.
rooms really fab. lots of space air con comfy beds fridge with water.
the groujnds were immaculate always kept clean so was our room fresh sheets and big towels every day.
loads of marble every where with great water features that would make charlie dimmick green!
resturants all nice more expensive than outside. breakfast was an amazing spread with loads to choose from.
pool area was great, always free sun loungers ans waiters to bring you drinks and food all with big smile.
beach also fab, good snorkling take under water camera!
namma bay its self loads of shops and food places, the camel bar was a favourate big portions and can watch the people walking around from the roof area!
do be aware that people will try and drag you in there shops and try to sell you perfume and stuff just say nothing or politly decline they are quite insistant but arnt to offended if you walk away.
did loads of excersions like cairo and luxor both good! but really hot and tiring. went diving with emporer comany well recommended. quad biking and swimming with dolphins amazing
anyway before you all fall asleep cant fault the hotel in any way shape or form and highly recommend it!!!
cant wait for my next visit! xx

We arrived home yesterday (30/09/2005) and i had to let people know.

The first impression of the Hotel is the Movenpick Jolie Ville sign, a tad gawdy. However when you walk into the hotel grounds you are met by some very friendly staff. My immediate thought was "you wont keep that up". We were taken to our room -exactly as the 14th sep review describes-. The room was exceptionally clean and lovely and cool, with two balconies (neither used as it was too hot to sit without a breeze).

The following day after arrival we saw the hotel properly. Probably a little dated by about 5 years but everything clean and well maintained. There is a private beach which we used for the first three days, but very hot, the sea is beautiful with a small bit of coral with loads of fish. The staff again very friendly, they must want something!.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, right on Naama Bay strip (no noise in the rooms from it though, we overlooked part of it) the best location of any hotel i have stayed in.

The food in the hotel was good, however the price in the international themed night buffet was a little expensive compared to restaurants in the strip (even the hard rock cafe, you have to go!) however not compared to London prices. One thing we had heard was that alcohol was expensive, this is not the case. A 500ml of local beer -Sakara, very nice- equivalent of 2 pounds sterling on average. A bottle of local wine is about 12 pounds sterling, a little more expensive, cocktails are expensive at 5 pounds. However a two course meal for two in the Hard rock with two beers two soft drinks and a cocktail came to 22 pounds sterling. That was the most expensive meal, other than the hotel, so it really is great value for money (many other good restaurants including Egyptian ! not just themed ones).

Back to the hotel. We stayed around the pool most days (other than going to cairo, Ras mohammed and Mount Sinai) relaxing. If you pick up a menu whilst sprawled across your lounger, a waiter will appear. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Being fairly pathetic, i had trouble putting up the umbrella nearly every day, well every day, but the lifeguard as soon as he saw me struggling would run over and do it. To be fair he did the same for everyone as they were as pathetic as i.

We had trouble with out air conditioning one night at around midnight. Within ten minutes someone was out and had fixed it. The cleaner for the room (not a maid as it was a man) deserves a special mention. He looked after us like he was our mother. Clothes neatly folded, toilietries lined up according to size, fresh sheets and towels everyday, bottles of water put in the fridge when we had left them out. Outstanding.

Overall the staff make this hotel, yes it maybe a little dated, and maybe not the same class as some 5 star hotels, Le Meridien in Cairo for instance, however i would pick this hotel again and again over any other hotel like that for the impeccable service and proffesionalism of ALL the staff. They did manage to keep it up for two weeks and made for an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.

Ultimate Relaxation and Excellent Service

from Snorkel-Seeker
Stayed at Jollie Ville Casino and Resort at beginning of September 2005. Room was spacious with larger than average twin beds pushed together, a table and 2 chairs, dressing table and fridge. Balcony with 2 chairs, table, sun lounger and a parasol. Good sized entrance to room with free use of safe and large wardrobe. Bathroom good size. Adjustable air con. Rooms are cleaned and tidyed daily. Staff very friendly - nothing too much trouble. Pool is lovely - in the afternoon staff hand out ice cold mint scented face towls - heaven! Weather was 39c all week, and it is not much cooler in the evenings!
Restaurants serve lovely food and service is excellent. Lot's of choice at breakfast time.
Plenty of coral to be explored off the hotels section of the beach - the fish are amazing.
Would definitely recommend the hotel - it is a stones throw from all the shops and restaurants - which is great as you don't want to be walking far in the heat! Excellent beach bar with a happy hour from 7pm - 8pm, serves yummy cocktails. Seagulls pub is nice too - good food and nightly entertainment - happy hour from 9pm - 10pm.
If I went back to Sharm, I'd definitely use this hotel again.

Ultimate relaxation

We found the Movenpick to be in a fantastic location, right on the beach, with the the shops, bars, restaurants, etc., very close by.The staff were exceptionally friendly and only too willing to help. We chose to go B+B, because we like to explore the local diners,to sample the local cuisine. We were not disappointed.

We stayed at the Movenpick from 24/06/05 to 08/07/05,so we were very lucky to not get caught up in the terrible terrorists bombings that took place, our hearts go out to all those who suffered.

Intial reaction was, never again, but why should we allow these people to dictate our holiday plans and movements, that is what they are aiming for.

So we have decided that are definately going to come back to Naama Bay, because we believe we found a bit of paradise hiding away in the Red Sea.

Top Local Tips for Sharm El Sheikh

Mind your bag in the ladies toilet Do not hand over your bag to the "toilet attendant" - he isn't a toilet attendant and will rob you. This happened to a lady while I was there and it was done in a way that didn't raise my suspicions until it was too late.

trip to luxor a trip to luxor is a must, the valley of the kings and the temple is stunning. you can book this directly in the hotel and it costs less than booking with your travel rep.

Learn a little Arabic The hotel and staff really appreciate your efforts in speaking a few words/phrases.
