Just came back From Laguna vista me and my partner. we stayed for 2 weeks. every thing was Great thoguh , the food and the staff were lovely , Clean and good rooms with very good View , the hotel is amazing disgned .

only one thing that we were disapointed with Thomas cook though , the trips are very expensive and i think they even send us to the worest places to do trips , we fixed out some trips with a guy who works for the hotel his name is ben , we went quad biking with him and Boat trip that he organized for all English arround the pool , it was Great and Cheaper than thomas cook. Ben is Friendly and honest too. he is half english so you can understand his english very well . he never been to england but he sounds english and he got avery good you will always feel like you are tlaking to an english person who lives arround your neighbor-hood.

I recommend booking trips with ben much better than wasting money for bad quality with thomas cook .

Booked this holiday as a treat for my 10yr old daughter and I. We were joined by some family with a 14month old daughter. If you like Italian & Russian people you will be fine as they made up 85% of all people staying here so EVERYTHING is geared towards them. We met no other English families so my daughter had no one to play with during the day! The evening entertainment start very late so did not bother going. Food was repetative-lovely chinese across the road though! If you go out of the hotel prepare to hassled big time!!!!!!!!!! Would NOT GO BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

great holiday, though brochure said hotel built on gentle slope, I found walking difficult as I have breathing problems, and there was a lot of steps, but all the staff were brilliant especially the staff at the pool and the waiters in the dining room, beautiful grounds and beach.

Nice, great new hotel, but could have been better if the food had been properly cooked and served hot. This time of year the pools are not heated and the area tends to be quite windy. After 4.00pm the temperature drops and warm clothing should be cosidered. Great new English Cafe opened just down the road called "Churchills" realy worth a visit and meet Tony, Tina and the crew. Had a great time.

Had a great time. 1 of the best hotels I have stayed in. the room was very large and clean, the pools where a little cold at this time of year, but there are loads of them. The sea is warm and just amazing for snorkelling. The food was plentiful and varied. The Staff were all helpful and polite. Overall we had a great time and we fly out again tomorrow for a week. :0

We loved it here the setting is amazing.staff great, very helpful. We stayed in one of the chalets which was about 20 metres from the nearest pool[lovely].Food good and plenty of it. If you want to indulge yourself have a massage its an exrta but it was absolute bliss. Most people get the trots but the pharmacist soon sorts you out.Everywhere is kept immaculate including the beach I was very impressed would definately go back.
See you next year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic staff make this a truly memorable experience. The grounds and facilities are quite remarkable, especially when lit up at night - magical! Our accomodation was starting to feel a little tired, but it was more than comfortable and it didn't matter because the sun shines all day long. Would we go back - you bet, but we would choose a cooler time of year. P.S. Dickie tummies and mosquitoes are a fact of life if you're holidaying abroad - take the necessaries with you!!

Historical Traveller Reviews of Laguna Vista Beach Resort Hotel

italian invasion

from shep1234
we returned again last week to this hotel to find that it had been invaded by the italians ok so they had been there the twice before we have been april2004 and december2004 but this time they were there en mass the hotel seems to be catering now to them and children note the new play area the food is still not 5 star more 3 but always something you could find staff are good especially staff at the reception bar ciro and all the others deserve a pay rise for having to put up with rudeness they encounter we shall return for a week in december but if we encounter the same rudeness and noise i think that it will be our last visit ps ive cancelled my booked holiday to italy

great hotel entertainment was not so good

We stayed at the Laguna Vista March 2004, The brochure photographs do not so it justice, Its a fabulous hotel, built in the style of a cave/palace. The pool areas are magnificent and it is easy to forget that you are actually in a hotel! The rooms in the hotel are HUGE, we were in standard accomodation and this was more than adequate and very clean. If I had to gripe about the room I would only mention the curtains that didn't cover most of the window, meaning we were awake very early due to the relentless sunshine. Not too much of a hardship though!
The food in the hotel was acceptable, although very much the same from day to day. The a la carte/Italian restaurant was absolutely appauling, overpriced and we were greeted with the worst service I had ever received in any restaurant. Give it a miss! The main diner was sufficiently sized to cater for guests, although the waiters could often be v.e.r.y slow indeed.
Fantastic private beach, avoid the beachfront shops though, it is full of creepy men.
The entertainment could have done with a rethink, the only form of entertainment was a lady playing the piano twice a week in the main foyet. Little else happened apart from the disco that wasn't really worth going to mainly because it was low season. We wasn't asking for bingo in seven languages just some variety would have been nice. But with saying that jump in the courtesy bus for a night in Naama bay if you are bored, very much worth it if only to smoke some shisha! Not as dodgy as it sounds!
The sports and Leisure facilities were superb, the Gym was well stocked with modern and up to date machinery and free weights, so it was all very safe, just remember to wear suitable footwear.
In summary, a great hotel not at all blighted by its location, good value but could do with some fine tuning.

from gatetraveller
A lovely place to stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. Unlike most hotels this one continues to develop - new beach bar/restaurant opening in a couple of weeks.

The hotel is very picturesque and romantic, particularly at night. All the bedrooms are a very good size and the reception area is breath-taking.

This was our third stay and we have wandered through quite a few of the other hotels on Nabq Bay to make sure the other man's grass wasn't greener. We don't think it was. We shall return to the Laguna Vista.

5 star, this hotel has everything

from kurrie
This is a fantstic hotel, Lovely grounds, top class staff, wonderful rooms, there could have been more choice of food at meal times and the italian resturant isn't great. BUT minor details didn't spoil what was a wonderful honeymoon.

The painting shop in the hotel is the cheapest in egypt and run by a very friendly man.

Quad biking in the dessert is a must, as is the cairo day trip.

This place was a week in heaven.

loved the hotel

from BlythBaron
We really enjoyed our stay at the Laguna vista. From the reception staff to the bell boys everyone was friendly and eager to ensure that you enjoyed your holiday.and that hotel lobby is most spectacular.
The rooms were spaceous and comfortable, the food was varied and of excellent quality.
The only negative things wre the children who were allowed to run unchecked through the dining room by either there parents or the staff and the inconsiderate eastern europian guests who tended to shout at any time of the day or night.
As for the airport, the less said about that the better, a total shambles.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.
We returned on 20/01/05 rested and refreshed and looking forwared to our next visit.

Luguna Vista a ray of sunshine

from lagunatotal
An excellent hotel. The accomodation was to a good standard and very clean. The service was second to none, staff could not do enough for you. The ambience of the hotel was just right, allowing for a degree of relaxation, but maintaining a high standard.

Well done.

Beware the Russians

from marieann13
My husband and I stayed at The Laguna Vista Xmas/New Year 2003.
Very nice hotel and rooms were lovely and very clean. Food average(not four star).
Cold at night, needed coats.
Did quad bike safari which was ace!!!!!! and camel ride(very Scary).
Only thing that spoilt it for us was "The Russians". They were very rude and loud and extremely nasty with the staff who were really nice on the whole.
Bit isolated. We are going back this Xmas but will stay in Naama Bay as it is really lively and has LOTS of restaraunts. Would not go all inclusive again.Hope this is useful to someone.

good but confused

from Sam_Hudson
Returned on Dec23 2004.This is a very beautiful and well appointed hotel. It wants to be a five star and it looks it...HOWEVER,it is a bit confused as to what a good hotel should offer. You cant change travellers cheques in the hotel or at any neighbouring hotel(there is a cash machine next door). They have the MOST LUDICROUS DISCO that blares out until 1am (in summer it goes on until 3am!!).You will only be affected if you paid extra and got a bungelow or really is LOUD and very annoying,in fact we moved rooms(we were lucky it wasnt usually is).The food is ok...nothing to write home about(it reminds me of Cuba). The sanitary condition of the hotel is bad tummys. The drinks stop at midnight unless you want to pay english prices for beer at the infernal disco.
The sea is a long distance but there is a very shallow lagoon that leads to the reef that is lovely to swim in.Aqua Active dive centre are very nice(we did our PADI Advanced with them). The Italian Entertainments team are lovely..very nice people(you will have to go to the entertainment...they will make you).Max,Massi and Christian and all the gang are worth their weight in gold.
The only downside is that some of the Egyptian males attitude to women is a bit will have to be forthright with them and tell them when you feel they are going too far(a very un-english thing to do).It is nippy at night, think of english summer nights, its also windy.
Its a nice hotel, maybe a bit far out from Naama bay but worth going.Wael in the cave bar is the man you need to get to!!
Oh its lovely weather in the daytime.Have fun.

absolutly fab place

from A TripAdvisor Member
went in dec fantastic place A1 service weather was just right a bit cool at night. good animation crew got u going. really good food at all times guest relations staff were russian and not very helpfull or acknowledge u existed but all the other staff were wonderfull. my husband hurt his leg on the 2nd day but was no problem as there was so much at the hotel he was in plaster done by the on sight doctor who was great and came to see him every day. will be going back to do the quad bikes in the desert and cairo trip as we had to cancel these.

from Samiantha81
To the person who wrote that they nearly died as the hotel was unhygenic. I totally disagree as it seems that everyone else who has put their point of view across does as well. it seems that thet person just has one bad experience but has decided to try and put everyone else off. My partner and I stayed there in May 2004 for 1 week, and enjoyed it so much we have booked to go back June 2005 for 2 weeks with 2 friends of ours. Would we submit our best friends to somewhere so bad no!!!!. The pools were excellent the staff were very firendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily and I never saw one piece of rubbish anywhere in the hotel. The only down side was the rude Germans,Italian and Russians. If you get chance do go quad biking in the desert it was excellent and we will definialtly be doing that again next year.
The entertainment at night was not that good but there is plenty to do in Namma Bay, but try not to go their in the day as it will kill you with the heat, all the shops are open at night as well as the bars and resturants.
