Excellent Hotel !!
from quinny64ukDon't feel guilty by ignoring them, they will try to make you feel that way, they WILL try and rip you off.
Someone tried to sell me a SECOND HAND copy of the news of the world for 45 egyptian pounds !!! 4 pounds 50p !!! When I bartered him down to 20 egyptian pounds he said he was offended that I would'nt give him 25 so he could have 5 for himself as the paper had supposedly cost him 20 !!! The paper had cartoon captions coming out of peoples mouths !! I had to be thankful that the crossword hadn't been done !!! Then when we were leaving the beach he wanted me to GIVE him the paper back as a present !!!! I said I'd rather throw it in the bin !!!!
Fantastic
from milobillyWe arrived quite late at the hotel and nothing was too much trouble, they cooked a meal for my young son and offered us room service.
The rooms were clean and well presented, the bathroom was well lit with hair dryer nice big mirror and plug socket for essential hair straighteners!!!The shower was good. plenty of hot water although first impressions of the shower where that it looked like it could do with updating,Everyday there was fresh towels, plenty of loo roll. There was always boxes of tissues in the bathroom, and plenty of soap in the dispenser. The room boy was good, really kept the room tidy. They done fantastic decorations with the towels on the beds which my little boy was delighted with on our return from the beach. The hotel provides you with towels around the pool, and also if you obtain a voucher from reception you can get towels at the beach aswell. At the beach there were pleny yof lounfgers as well as around the hotel pool.
Breakfast was really nice, plenty of choice, although we had trouble getting up in the morning as the blackout curtains kept enough light out we could fool the baby that it was not morning and get a lie in!!
We had some fantastic meals out, Tam Tams for cold meze and soup at lunch time, 3 of us ate for about a fiver, evening we ate in most places, maharaja on the beach front, the japanese on the front aswell. We also ate in the Lebense opposite MacDonalds quite a few times , we ate loads of fish and salad and none of us were ill. Na'ama Bay was fantastic, compared to Luxor it was like Vegas without the tacky bits.I would recommend this place to anyone.I will definatly be having my next winter holiday here. Days are sunny not too hot, evenings are mild, you need to wrap up but it beats December in Wales any day. Lisa Darren & Zach

enjoyable stay at kahramana
from lyndseyjHaving been to Sharm twice before, i know the area pretty well and wanted a hotel really central to Namma Bay.
The Kahramana is just that! Literally a 2 minute walk from the bars and resturants. The pool area is lovely and kept clean. It's quite relaxing around the pool until about 3.30pm when the music gets louder and the games begin, which is really good.
I only had breakfast at the hotel as there is so many resturants to choose from around Namma Bay. Breakfast was ok, plenty to choose from, but i always stick to the omlettes, which i enjoy.
The room i had was overlooking the pool area, and the air conditioning is very good. The rooms are cleaned daily and a good job is done.
Namma Bay is fantastic, as i said this was my third time and i still love it. The mexican is so nice, as is China house.
Valentino is new resturant/lounge/disco - which is really good.
Overall i had a fantastic stay and would recommend the Kahramana. I have previously stayed at the Hilton Sharm Dreams which is a 5*, and yes it is a much nicer hotel, but the Kharamana is half the price and you get what you pay for.
Superb hotel, best holiday experience ever!
from martini_girl36The staff are so friendly creating such a good mood between fellow holiday-makers therefore making it seem a home from home.
The hotel was very clean and staff are only too willing to help out with any problems you may have. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels left too, they even mould the towels into swans, flowers or butterflies and leave them on your bed for your arrival back!
Air-conditioning is an absolute MUST, so it was a God-send that all rooms have individually controlled A/C and to save you weight, they all have a hair-dryer in the bathroom!
They've a mini bar, which I found great for storing my after-sun and water too!
Everyday the Animation team have something on at the pool, Abi, the main guy usually starts off with a game of water polo. To my surprise, it was so much fun and I regularly played! They also have other excursions such as snorkelling on the beach - this happens around 2pm, you hire the snorkels out for about £1 and you're taken along the beach to view these fantastic fish! I had been on the snorkelling trips before this but there was really no need, you can swim out about 10-15 m's from the beach and there is live coral there and the most extraordinary fish. In fact, the fish I seen at the beach were identical to those at Tiran island! An underwater camera with a flash is a must and can be picked up for approx £11 in their Kodak shops! These cameras are re-useable AND are lots cheaper than buying in the UK!!
At night, the team have something else lined up, be it a beach party, party at the castle etc - this is aimed for younger people who like to party, or indeed those of any age who are up for partying!
Buffet breakfast - definitely a highlight, not to be missed! There is a superb selection of fruits, breads, salads, yoghurts, cereals, cakes & danishes, eggs (boiled or your own custom-made omelettes), luncheon meats, traditional egyptian foods and the best part, freshly cooked crepes with hot chocolate sauce!! These are superb!
If you have booked an excursion, you can ask Reception for a Breakfast Box to take with you, this is at no extra cost, only downside is you don't get the warm food!
The hotel is central to the strip, 1 minutes walk and you're on the strip strolling past Hard Rock Cafe, Little Buddha and the most surreal bazaar's which provide a comfy spot to smoke a Shisha! These bazaar's have almost any flavour of fruit and you can get a Shisha with or without tobacco. I, being a non-smoker myself, was able to have a puff on lemon without tobacco therefore no cravings!
Please note if you're bringing a Shisha back, you will have the charcoal taken off you at the airport, yip, they will open your case and take it off you. Not to worry, our own BBQ fast-burn charcoal does the same job!
What else? Pool bar is very cheap! They'll bring your drinks over to you at no extra cost and always with a smile on their face! The wee dotes were so thoughtful, they made me up special drinks when I got sick and it's worth noting the pool bar uses bottled water to make the ice - so you can drink/ eat it no problems!
As for getting sick, again, Reception were marvellous, phoned a doctor on my behalf and had him out within the hour! The doctor was very cheap as well, just in case you need to know!
One other thing, it's worth noting that you can book your own excursions without your travel rep. For example, I was told I couldn't swim with dolphins, the list was too long, turned out I could book it myself just 5 minutes up the road from the hotel (shop called Aquarius!) Plus it's cheaper this way too!
Finally, all I can say is this was one of the best hotel experiences of my life and I will go back and stay in the same hotel in the hopefully not too distant future!
Excellent Hotel, Brilliant location
from BbirdThe hotel location is ideal, short walk to the beach and a nice easy stroll around the town. The staff in the hotel are very helpful & friendly. One of the fun parts to this holiday was finding a different towel decoration on our bed every afternoon.
We had a problem with the A/c in our room, it was repaired within minutes of calling reception.
Breakfast is buffet style, plenty choice.
When we return to Sharm el Sheikh, this will be the hotel I will be booking into.

Trips from Sharm El Sheikh Shop around for the best price on trips to Cairo and Luxor. You could save about GBP 40 per person by going via a local travel agency rather than your tour operator.
The best weather I think the best time in year to go to sharm el shiekh is by the end of April/first of May ..or in October /November.the weather there is amazing then. Also in winter the weather there is nice,,not so cold.
general tips. B&B would be better than All Inclusive but to be safe I would say - DON'T GO AT ALL!Take dry-wash with you to clean and disinfect your hands after handling the money. Carry £1 (egyption pounds) for tipping. Take loo roll with you if you go out anywhere as they often don't keep any in the ladies or they hand you a couple of sheets. Don't let people take your cases at the airport as they expect a tip. Haggle with the shop keepers. If you are not interested in looking at their shops - just say a firm no. Ladies - you are quite safe there but be respectful in a muslim country. Do not let your children out of your site as we heard a couple of bad things. Take some Peptobismal with you or Immobian - Pharos Revenge in not very nice and EVERYONE got it. Make sure your valuable are locked away either in your safe, or lock your suitcase.
