I have just returned from staying at this hotel as a single traveller, wishing a quiet, relaxing beach holiday where I felt safe and secure. I was not disappointed- the staff were wonderful and attentive and seen to my every wish. The private beach was wonderful, as was the boat trip to the coral reef, where excellent snorkelling was on your doorstep.I honestly did not need to step out of the hotel grounds all week, although the market and shops were literally across the road from the hotel.I will certainly be returning to this wonderful haven.

The hotel was fab! The staff were helpful! Food delicious and a good variety! Entertainment staff great (Luisa, Hadeer, Mohammed etc)!! Location great too! was a bit quiet in the nights by the Pappagallo Bar but if you go down in the Borsalino Pub which is open from 20.00 - 01.00 (except Thursdays) it is a bit more lively with the entertainment putting on shows (karaoke, quizzes, dance competition etc) its the best I have ever stayed in and will hopefully be going back again next year!

The location of the hotel was excellent everything about the hotel in fact. The service was excellent and the staff couldn't not have been friendlier. I thought though the hotel was very quiet at nights could have been a bit more entertainment.

My family(partner and 9 yr old daughter)have just returned from a 2 week stay here. The staff are very friendly. The beach is wonderful, but to be honest I was very disappointed with the food. Thank god we only went as B&B.

This hotel is situated in Old Sharm so if you plan to leave the premises and venture round the area be very very wary. I as a female felt very uncomfortable. The hotel is very quiet at night and very boring so we ended up having to take one of the crazy taxi's into Naa'ma Bay almost every night. We enjoyed this as there's loads to see and do there.

The Hotel was okay but after staying last year in The Renaissance Golden View we knew we had been spoiled last year.

I would only return if I was holidaying with my partner as there's nothing to do for children. Although there is a kids club it always seemed to be empty.

The reason we booked this holiday is because it's very hard to get a hotel in Sharm with a beach, this hotel has a perfect one and that's what sold me this hotel.

Fantastic Hotel

My wife and I have just returned from The Iberotel Place. What service. the staff were wonderful and friendly. They never let you open a door. The only person with a sour face was the general maager and he was Swiss.
Other people have indicate dthat they felt threatened by the security at the entrances to the hotel. Let me put the record straight. There was only one main entrance to the hotel that has a security scanner. There were 2 gurads on duty and they were always friendly and had a chat. We felt this was for our security and did not find it intimidating at all The only other guard at the hotel was at the service entrance who checked our ID a couple of times to ensure we were hotel guests and not interlopers from other hotels. The gurads at the shopping mall opposite the hotel (all 3 of them) were there to watch over the ATM machines. They were also friendly and said hello when passing them. I nevber saw a Tourist Policeman on any beach.

Yes you can get "ripped off" i.e. paying £9.00 for a newspaper, but if you know the exchange rate why would you pay it?

Anyway enough of putting thing straight. The food was excellent. The manager of the Blue Marine is courteous and is always happy to talk, as were all the waitersand bar staff. All you need is a smile. We couldn't fault anyone in the hotel. Jo the Thomson rep is the best rep we have ever had. I saw her carrying out Health and safety checks with the hotel grounds.

She would telephone after a trip to see if you enjoyed it and it there any problems. Excellent service.

The hotel was only about half full. This was due the recent bombing ang and the heat. 35 degrees at 09:30 rising to a pleasant 46 degrees each day. The pools were empty and plenty of sunbeds. We even changed rooms (just to be out of the sun at tea time) without any hassle.

If you want a chilled out holiday the end of June begining of July is the best time because it is so hot no one goes to Egypt. It was perfect for us.

The Red Sea cruise for snorkelling is a must and so cheap for what you get. A day out on a cruiser witha buffet meal and 3 coral reefs to explore. My wife doesn't swim and even she enjoyed it, seeing fish from the boat etc.

Please don't be put off by a few isolated comments from people and visit the Palace.

Lovely hotel, but surroundings intimidating

from A TripAdvisor Member
My partner and I stayed at the Iberotel Palace Hotel and could not fault the staff, food and hotel facilities were wonderful. But we felt very intimidated and threatened outside the confines of the hotel. Had to pass through security arches at all entrances to the hotel and there was also heavy presence of police at the entrance to the shopping centre across the road which was obviously for our safety but was not indusive to a relaxing carefree holiday.
Once the locals knew you were English one shopkeeper outside the hotel actually closed the door of the shop when we went in and we underwent 2 hours of sales pressure to purchase gifts.
In the hotel we bought a newspaper from a sales person and afterwards realised that it had cost us £9.00 English and the crossword had already been done on it. The hotel shop was not a lot better as we bought some perfume and aftershave and oils and realised after we had left the shop that we had been charged £135.00.
I was sexually harassed by one of the hotel tourist police who stood behind me and put his hand inside my serong. When I complained to the Thompson rep a report was written and I was told nothing could be done about it. I would definitely not advise single groups of females to go to this place and I was glad I had not brought my 16 year old daughter.
The hotel tourist police were everywhere even on the beaches.
Saying this within the hotel we felt very safe and the snorking in the sea in front of the hotel was out of this world and a an amazing experience.

a little bit of heaven

My boyfriend and I stayed at Iberotel Palace in January 2006 - a winter sun getaway! And we werent disappointed. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly, the reception area clean and very grand, and our room was lovely, spacious and very good facilities. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, any age - there is something special about the place and it will definitely set the standard for your following holidays! We stayed on B&B basis and it was fantastic - everything you could ask for and more. We also ate in the hotel four times during our 7 night stay, twice in italian restaurant and twice in the buffet restaurant. But there are plently of places to eat outside the hotel in the old town round the corner or in Naama Bay - take the courtesy bus or taxi. We did two trips through Thomson - Quad Biking in Sinai desert (my boyfriends choice) and seascope submarine (my choice) and they were both fantastic!
We give this hotel 10 out of 10 - I hope after reading this you will visit and experience luxury like we did. enjoy.

A Gem of an Hotel

Just returned (24/4) from 2 fabulous weeks at this first class fantastic hotel.. I have never stayed in such a clean and well managed hotel before - the place was spotless and you could see the bar and food and public areas being scrubbed clean EVERY day/night. The rooms are HUGE and well appointed - fabulous showers! The staff were most kind and helpful and friendly without being overbearing. The food was superb (we were All Inc at a very good price) - local wine and beers were very good but you need a public health warning about the local spirits!!! The hotel is very close to the Old Market where if you're brave enough you can get the best homous and bread and arabic coffee!!! - Don't worry about the shop hagglers - they're only trying to make a living and will let you walk on by if you're polite with them! We plan to return later this year - we loved this hotel - there was absolutely nothing to fault it. A first class hotel well managed and superbly run by the management team and staff.

Lovely hotel - would return

Had a lovely relaxing holiday over Easter. We were on AI basis - food was plentiful and varied and the drinks were ok overall (Bottled beer, cocktails, local white wine - ok with soda; local spirits were not good)! AI also included free soft drinks and bottled water in mini bar. Hotel was very clean with lovely big room and balcony that looked onto the pool (Room 2222) Only two minor negatives; staff tried to stop you taking drinks from the bar to your room - you had to be creative to do this; our European partners were reserving loungers at 5am or 6am - and not returning until after lunch! All in all a lovely holiday - lots to do if you want or lovely to sit and relax and not do a thing!

ll love this hotel....

Iberotel Palace is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. We chose half board although you could upgrade to all inclusive. Some guests were on a B & B basis which gave them freedom to dine elsewhere in the evening. The hotel staff were impeccably dressed and they couldn't do enough for us. Our room cleaner was extremely helpful and every day when we came back to our room he had made something with the towels, one day he made a heart, the next a flower, then a snake and the best one of all was a swan, it was fantastic. I used to take a photo each day, we had a lovely surprise each day when returning to our room to see what he had made. The animation team were so friendly and really lovely people, although they didn't manage to persuade us to join in any games, we just wanted to relax on the beach. There are free sunbeds and towels every day and it was great not to have to take sandy wet towels back to our room. The breakfasts were excellent, plenty to eat whatever your tastes, loads of different breads, fruit, yoghurt, poached eggs, fried eggs, omelettes, the only thing is the bacon is BEEF bacon and doesn't taste the same as PIG bacon. The evening meals were plentiful, each night was based on a theme, Italian, Austrian, Asian etc.
The Old Market of Sharm is across the road from this hotel and you do tend to get pestered by the locals to buy something from their shops, they say "I give you good price" but you have to halve the price and go even lower because they have got wise to us Brits and have put their prices up a bit more. The one thing I didn't like was that nothing had prices on in the shops, only in the supermarkets, so you always had to ask "how much is this please" and you know the answer to that don't you? If you have to get a taxi book one at reception because there are more taxis than people in Sharm, the blue and white are like ants running around he place, they will try and charge you more but you MUST agree a price before you even get in. If you want tea making facilities you have to ask at reception and they will give you a kettle etc, but we only found out the day before we left so we mentioned it to our Rep, Che, and he said he would put that point in his welcome meetings. We could have murdered a cup of tea first thing in the morning. The best thing about this hotel is that it has its own beach, you just walk through the beautiful gardens and you're there. There is a free boat out to the coral reefs and if you've never snorkeled before just try, it's amazing.

Loved the Palace

We have just returned from this fabulous hotel. The hotel is spotless and was even being cleaned at 4.00 a.m. in the morning. The staff are friendly and are all keen to please you. We spent two weeks at the hotel and could not fault it. The beach was clean. There is a coral reef a short distance away and the hotel provided a free boat service to access this. It took about ten minutes to walk around the bay to get to this area. The gardens are well kept. The location is ideal for those who wish to take an evening stroll around the shops and market. We were on a bed and breakfast basis and the quality and choice of food was excellent. The local Chinese, Thai and Italian restaurants were clean and the food and service was good. We highly recommend this hotel.

Such a Palace it has a phone in the bathroom!

Seven ladies just returned from Sharm el Sheik and the Iberotel Palace. We all have varying levels of foreign travel experience but all loved this hotel. The staff are wonderful and the barmen even remembered our drinks each night. We went all inclusive and it was great they even do your laundry free - collect in morning and return in evening. The rep Che was great fun and we all went on different excursions.
The food was great and the rooms were spotless - we had ground floor rooms around the pool and these were very close to all the amenities. Not many fish in bay but you can take a boat to the Coral reef and go snorkelling. They put the english pilots in this hotel so it must be good. Would highly recommend.
We will be back.

Top Local Tips for Sharm El Sheikh

Feel Good! The spa treatments and massage are great value and invaraiably done by qualified practitioners.

Quad biking We booked quead biking through Thomson and were going to book a boat trip but found that they were quite a bit dearer than the activity company that were based on the beach as they were booking exactly the same activities.

dreaded taxis! ALWAYS make sure you have the correct change for taxis. They are very reluctant to give you change back and will come up with all the excuses under the sun not to do so.
