WHAT A TIP

I have stayed in a number of hotels in Naama bay, but this one is without doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed, in any part of the world. On arrival we were shown to a dingy hotel room overlooking black bin rubbish bags. We complained and were allocated a better room, but only after the necessary tip to the reception staff. The beds were of the old type, rock hard, the sheets were white well washed and well past their best. The shower would not work and the toilet had a mind of its own whether to stop flushing or not.. Reports were to no avail. The whole premises needs a good makeover, have a look at the seats in reception for instance, all watermarked and frayed. The pool, whilst clean was full of cracked and broken tiles... This is nowhere near a 4/5 star hotel as brochured, more like a 2 possibly low 3. The whole premises seem to be run on how much money the staff can get from you. I do not decry giving tips, but only when warranted , not as a matter of course and certainly not when blackmailed. The reception staff are the most ignorant people i have ever met.. We were going to dive "thistlegorm" and put in for a 4am call, it never came,by good luck we were waken at the time. On enquiring why the call wasn't made we were asked."well did you pay the reception when making the request"I didn't lose my temper until then.. No this is a poor hotel, go at your peril. Next door, the jolle ville movenpic is marvellous for both cleanliness and staff, go there, or the Sonesta Beach far and away better Hotel. Never again to the Ghazala Beach Hotel.

We booked a 2 week holiday in the Ghazala Beach Hotel and I must say it was wonderful, our room was clean, the staff were so friendly we had a good laugh with them, they always had a smile for you even though they worked some very long hours. The beach was very clean, but what made it so lovely, was the gardens they were wonderful they kept them so splendid. And I can't wait to go back again, I would recommend this hotel to any one wanting a bed and breakfast board, a short stroll to the heart of Naama bay, it is just wonderful, a good 4 star hotel.

Ghazala Disaster

We have recently come back from a holiday to sharm el sheikh in Egypt; we were booked into the Ghazala Beach Hotel by Panorama holidays (Air Tours) we were booked in as all-inclusive? This was fine, the brochure said 6 restaurants there was only one we could use and for seven days we had a very boring set buffet, and the only drinks available was lemonade, coke or beer, we could not even have fruit juice with breakfast unless we paid for it, this according to panorama, is all inclusive I don't think so, some of the staff were very rude but this was only the members of staff wearing black tee shirts?
The room was similar to a butlins type chalets they were small Villas? Set in the grounds of the hotel complex, our view was of four air condition units down an alleyway, if we wanted a villa we would have asked for one, we wanted to stay in the hotel? My advice would be if you wanted to stay at this hotel then go bed and breakfast as the all inclusive option is way over priced.
Try another hotel for better value.

Top Local Tips for Sharm El Sheikh

NO TAXI taxi didnt turn up on departing had to pay taxi to airport

Go to the old market (by bus) Instead of eating in Naama bay, you can save yourself some money by taking the locals bus (about 2 pounds) to the Old Market in Sharm el Sheikh. That is where the locals eat, and the food is almost half the price!
