Have just returned from 2weeks at the Baron Hotel Resort. It wasn't our first choice when looking to book but due to availability and work commitments choose it with being 5star.We weren't dissapointed! It was absolutely wonderful.Staff so friendly, food great, although Egyption interesting!Rooms good size and if you can I would definately recommend sea view.Amazing!Everything so clean.Gardeners even raking up fallen flower petals. The pool is huge and we spent all our time there.Snorkelling off the jetty a must.We went into Namma bay 3 times.Again to be experienced.Hard Rock Cafe serves great reasonably priced food and the waiters do a dance throughout the evening. We only went there for a change of food choice.Temperatures ,average 27c but the day we left 36c.Getting hotter. So sad to be home as we had a great time.Loved it soooo much, want to go back in October.ENJOY!YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

The property at The Baron Resort in Sharm el Sheikh is quite lovely. Well kept and immaculately clean. The problems come with the guests and the food (oh, and of course the flies). Billing itself as a 5-star property certainly seems to pull in a large, package holiday crowd. As a result, this is the ultimate cliche where you have to get up at dawn to fight over a sun lounger. On the beach you have The Animation Team (bunch of college students by the looks of them) who do EXACTLY the same routine of aerobics and children's games every day. If I never hear the soundtrack from 'Beverly Hills Cop' again, it will be too soon. Hint about the guests. Most of the patter from the annoying Animation Team was in Russian and German. Because most of the guests have already paid for an all-inclusive package, the quality of food and its presentation are indifferent. Not that one would want to linger in the restaurants too long as the staff are, again, indifferent or in our case overly, shall we say 'friendly.' Avoid. If you simply have to go to Sharm (why?) try the lovely Four Seasons Resort. More expensive but when you're stranded on one of the ugliest stretches of desert, who cares.

We were expecting the hotel to be nice because of all the reviews and their website looks lovely.
It far exceeded our expectations. We travelled 28/11 to 5/12 and the weather was 28-30 every day. Most of the pictures you can find on the internet are outdated and do not do the hotel justice.
I would agree with a lot of the previous reviews in that wherever you look, there are staff who are pleasant and helpful and seem to work 24 hours a day.
The room is large with two queen sized beds, tv, minibar, large balcony and large bathroom with a power shower. The room was made up every day. The pool is huge and there seems to be more than enough room for everyone there. Snacks and drinks are available here and this is also where you get your free towels in the morning. There is a second pool which is mostly covered (above the gym) and has hydrotherapy jets. Brilliant if you are not a sun lover or have got burned or just fancy a bit of tranquility.
The beach is fantastic, really long and wide and sandy, there is a beach bar and the Indian restaurant here too. Snorkelling and diving from the jetty are brilliant and as per previous reviews, it is like swimming in a fish tank. The one downside of the beach is the constant stream of people trying to get you to buy something or do something (Animation team, people selling trips and souvenirs etc). You really just have to learn to be firm - they don't give up even when you have bought from them or booked a trip through them. I know is is their way of life so that is OK but be prepared.
The food is good, we ate in the Italian, the buffet restaurant and the (lovely) Indian. We didnt need to book at the Italian but you do need to for the Indian. This probably indicates the demand...the Italian was nice but not much choice on the menu. The Indian was gorgeous.
Naama Bay was an experience. We were happy to get back to the peace and quiet at the hotel but that is not to say you shouldn't go - it is just that the hotel is so nice that when you leave it you just want to get back there again.
The only thing we didnt like about this hotel was 'Baron Boulevard'. This could have been brilliant, there is a really good selection of shops including pharmacy and photo developing. We were not expecting to be harrangued down the street whilst still in the hotel. Again, I know it is normal there but I am not a naturally rude person and found it difficult to ignore/say no thank you all the time. If you don't do this you are taken into each and every shop and shown every item they stock. If there were only two shops this wouldn't be a problem but there are lots and lots of shops! We would have loved to go along there and look in the shops for presents etc but did not want to run the gauntlet every evening. Don't get me wrong, the people are fantastic - polite helpful and are only trying to earn a living. I just didn't like it in the hotel.
THIS MUST NOT PUT YOU OFF, it is the only thing that was a slight downside to the hotel. Other than this, the hotel is spot on, fantastic A+ etc etc and we will be going back next year.

The Baron, pleased to recommened.

The hotel was more than we had anticipated, even after reading the previous reviews. Our room was spacious and very clean. The pool, gardens & beach kept to a high standard with pleasant staff everywhere.
The restraunts we found good, with better than average fare, the Italian and Indian both also good if a wee bit of a short menu. The main reason that we went to Sharm was for the snorkelling and of course some sun, we were not disappointed in either We only stayed for one week and found no real reason to leave the hotel except for a short visit to the market at Sharm el Sheik. We certainly would return.

The amazing Baron Hotel

from MH0873
We just returned from the baron on the 15th Sept. All i can say is wow what a fantastic hotel. From the moment you arrive you know you are in a well managed establishment.
The General manager asked us everynight if we had any complaints & if everything is ok. Staff cant do enough for you.
Its huge, theres no rush to get sunloungers. They even brought cold towels to us whilst we were sunbathing.
The food is average on the downside. The pool side restaurant is excellent for snacks during the day but the on site restaurants were not brilliant. Naama bay is only a 20 min courtesy bus ride away and there are a huge number of places to choose from.
All in all i would definately return to this hotel.

Liked it, but with a few minors

First impressions of hotel were very good, the lobby is VERY impressive. When trying to check-in they wanted us to have a sea view room for 4 days then move us to a garden view room which I didn't want to do (we stayed for 14 days). The "garden" view room we got was small and over looked the road and a hotel path. Not nice, they promised to move us but it never happened. It was clean and the shower was powerful (a must if you've long hair!!) so I was pretty happy as how long do you really spend in there?

Pool and beach were lovely, clean and very well staffed. The jetty that takes you to the reef was perfect (it's like swimming in a tropical fish tank!!). And there was hotel staff on the end of the jetty at all times to oversee that no-one touched the coral (very important) or no-one drowned (also very important!!). They are only too happy hold sunglasses etc for you.

Food was ok, but plentiful for your money. I do advise that you visit the indian in the resort (we went 3 times!!) as that is utterly gorgeous.

Overall I was happy with the hotel. Will I go back? No, probably not, but then there is so much to see in the world and that many places to go it would have to be a pretty special place to tempt me.

Hotel was fantasic

We have just returned from a week at The Baron Resort. The hotel is wonderful and we have never experienced such incredible service before. It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the hotel to go on any trips!!. When we did venture out into Naamba Bay, we couldn't wait to get back to the peace and tranquility of the hotel. The hotel has 3 pools but we mainly stayed around the main pool which was very large. The pool attandents were great and layed ot our towel every day so we got the same spot!!! The hotel is situated on the beach and there is a jetty leading out to a coral reef right on the hotel doorstep!! The fish down there were great and it was nice being able to snorkle at anytime. There were 5 different restaurants, but we only ate in two - the main buffet (siani restuarant), and the Indian (Taj Mahal). Both were really nice and the food was great.

The hotel is situated around 20 mins from the main resort which was ideal. It was nice that we could go there to shop or have an evening out, but it wasnt 'in our face' all the time. It only cost £5.00 in a cab to get there and the hotel shuttle bus is only 50p

The thing that struck me the most about the Baron was the staff. There seemed to be as many staff as there was guests and everyone was so friendly. I have never known a hotel so clean, and they seem to clean 24 hours a day. (We were at a pool bar one evening until 4 am and I saw workers polishing the floors and bannisters in reception!). Every morning and evening the manager goes into all the restaurants and around the hotel greeting everyone, personally introducing himself and checking everthing is ok. My usual experiance of General Managers is that they are NEVER to be seen, especially if there is a problem!! This made him a refreshing change. In addition to the manager, I had customer relations and the reception staff call me in my room on three seperate occasions to see if we were ok and could they assist in anything!!!

My Fiance and I love this hotel so much that we have already booked to go back to the Baron on 24th Sep next year for two weeks.

loved Baron hotel

We went to Baron hotel Sharm el sheikh it was awsome. We had a blast..My kids loved snorkling with my husband. Pool was clean and warm. Food was very good. Rooms are clean with mini fridge with beer , soda, water. Air condition worked good. It's a very good resort. Only thing is the gym was too small with few equipments. I recomend this hotel to any one would like to have fun and relax in the sun.

Cant wait to go back

This hotel I can highly recommend. We have just returned from another holiday at the Baron (that was our third visit). The hotel is very clean, set in lovely grounds which are maintained to a very high standard. The pools and the private beach are wonderful. The reefs for snorkelling and diving, which are so easily reached via a pontoon is absolutely fantastic with its beautiful fishes and corals, etc. The management and staff we found to be very courteous and obliging. We have only been back for two days and already I am booking another holiday there. If you have already booked, relax, you have chosen well. Go - have a wonderful holiday.

stay at the baron

The missis and I chose the Baron, mainly due to the reviews we saw on trip adviser and so its only fair to defend the baron especially after the slating the french chappy on the last review gave. They really must have caught the Baron on a bad day. We went there second week in April and had the best time. We needed some sun in April and looked at the usual places...gran canaria...lanzarote etc and then stumbled across Sharm, much cheaper than the pre-mentioned for a higher rating of hotel. So we booked up with hayes and jarvis and off we went. arrived at night time and immeadiately impressed by the reception / bar area of the Baron. Rooms very nice with a cracking view of the gardens and private beach (obviously didnt see this until the morning !!). Worth mentioning that we did pay extra for the sea view at time of booking and you have to request a double bed. Most rooms are twins and unless you request a double bed you may not get one. Apart from that, couldnt fault the week. Great pools, service, food, drink, private beach, private jetty to private coral for private snorkling !,watersports etc etc. The place is spotless...if something isnt being cleaned just hang on a few minutes as someone will be along to clean it very soon !! The general manager is a top man who must have 3 or 4 twin brothers as he appears to be everywhere and makes a real effort with the guests. He says hello whenever he sees you and has time for a chat. He gave us his business card so if anyone does end up going there drop me an email (-----------) and i will pass on his details - is worth mailing him to request that double bed if nothing else !!!
Although the Baron is a self contained paradise in the middle of nowhere there is a free bus into nearby Naama bay which is great for resturants, bars and some quality haggling with the traders !!
I could go on and on but go see for yourself.
If you require any more info please drop me an email (no, i am not on commission !!). We had a great time and you will do too if you go to the Baron Resort in Sharm El Sheikh.
p.s. if anyone does go with hayes and jarvis say hi to Ibrahim the rep from Rich and Clare - top man !!

Top Local Tips for Sharm El Sheikh

Baron Spa / Health Club Try the coffe scrub, you get a one hour massage and a one hour scrub and wrap. Traditional Egyptian treatment, priced at about £30 it was lovely. i did smell like coffee for a day after but the golden colour is leaves on your skin really helps with tanning. Plus my skin was silky soft.

Airport Sharm airport is total chaos at present although a new terminal is being built. Be prepared to wait and be patient. If you are stayihng in the local area you do not need at visa so try to go stright to passport control. You may find 200 others doing the same so don't let it spoil your visit.

Blue/White taxis Don't use them, the drivers nly need pass the minimum of standards and 90% of the vehicles would never pass an MOT. Stick to hotel organised transport
