Amazing!

from Jennic1It far exceeded our expectations. We travelled 28/11 to 5/12 and the weather was 28-30 every day. Most of the pictures you can find on the internet are outdated and do not do the hotel justice.
I would agree with a lot of the previous reviews in that wherever you look, there are staff who are pleasant and helpful and seem to work 24 hours a day.
The room is large with two queen sized beds, tv, minibar, large balcony and large bathroom with a power shower. The room was made up every day. The pool is huge and there seems to be more than enough room for everyone there. Snacks and drinks are available here and this is also where you get your free towels in the morning. There is a second pool which is mostly covered (above the gym) and has hydrotherapy jets. Brilliant if you are not a sun lover or have got burned or just fancy a bit of tranquility.
The beach is fantastic, really long and wide and sandy, there is a beach bar and the Indian restaurant here too. Snorkelling and diving from the jetty are brilliant and as per previous reviews, it is like swimming in a fish tank. The one downside of the beach is the constant stream of people trying to get you to buy something or do something (Animation team, people selling trips and souvenirs etc). You really just have to learn to be firm - they don't give up even when you have bought from them or booked a trip through them. I know is is their way of life so that is OK but be prepared.
The food is good, we ate in the Italian, the buffet restaurant and the (lovely) Indian. We didnt need to book at the Italian but you do need to for the Indian. This probably indicates the demand...the Italian was nice but not much choice on the menu. The Indian was gorgeous.
Naama Bay was an experience. We were happy to get back to the peace and quiet at the hotel but that is not to say you shouldn't go - it is just that the hotel is so nice that when you leave it you just want to get back there again.
The only thing we didnt like about this hotel was 'Baron Boulevard'. This could have been brilliant, there is a really good selection of shops including pharmacy and photo developing. We were not expecting to be harrangued down the street whilst still in the hotel. Again, I know it is normal there but I am not a naturally rude person and found it difficult to ignore/say no thank you all the time. If you don't do this you are taken into each and every shop and shown every item they stock. If there were only two shops this wouldn't be a problem but there are lots and lots of shops! We would have loved to go along there and look in the shops for presents etc but did not want to run the gauntlet every evening. Don't get me wrong, the people are fantastic - polite helpful and are only trying to earn a living. I just didn't like it in the hotel.
THIS MUST NOT PUT YOU OFF, it is the only thing that was a slight downside to the hotel. Other than this, the hotel is spot on, fantastic A+ etc etc and we will be going back next year.
The Baron, pleased to recommened.
from CaberkingThe restraunts we found good, with better than average fare, the Italian and Indian both also good if a wee bit of a short menu. The main reason that we went to Sharm was for the snorkelling and of course some sun, we were not disappointed in either We only stayed for one week and found no real reason to leave the hotel except for a short visit to the market at Sharm el Sheik. We certainly would return.
The amazing Baron Hotel
from MH0873The General manager asked us everynight if we had any complaints & if everything is ok. Staff cant do enough for you.
Its huge, theres no rush to get sunloungers. They even brought cold towels to us whilst we were sunbathing.
The food is average on the downside. The pool side restaurant is excellent for snacks during the day but the on site restaurants were not brilliant. Naama bay is only a 20 min courtesy bus ride away and there are a huge number of places to choose from.
All in all i would definately return to this hotel.
Liked it, but with a few minors
from AnjithPool and beach were lovely, clean and very well staffed. The jetty that takes you to the reef was perfect (it's like swimming in a tropical fish tank!!). And there was hotel staff on the end of the jetty at all times to oversee that no-one touched the coral (very important) or no-one drowned (also very important!!). They are only too happy hold sunglasses etc for you.
Food was ok, but plentiful for your money. I do advise that you visit the indian in the resort (we went 3 times!!) as that is utterly gorgeous.
Overall I was happy with the hotel. Will I go back? No, probably not, but then there is so much to see in the world and that many places to go it would have to be a pretty special place to tempt me.
Hotel was fantasic
from kkilroeThe hotel is situated around 20 mins from the main resort which was ideal. It was nice that we could go there to shop or have an evening out, but it wasnt 'in our face' all the time. It only cost £5.00 in a cab to get there and the hotel shuttle bus is only 50p
The thing that struck me the most about the Baron was the staff. There seemed to be as many staff as there was guests and everyone was so friendly. I have never known a hotel so clean, and they seem to clean 24 hours a day. (We were at a pool bar one evening until 4 am and I saw workers polishing the floors and bannisters in reception!). Every morning and evening the manager goes into all the restaurants and around the hotel greeting everyone, personally introducing himself and checking everthing is ok. My usual experiance of General Managers is that they are NEVER to be seen, especially if there is a problem!! This made him a refreshing change. In addition to the manager, I had customer relations and the reception staff call me in my room on three seperate occasions to see if we were ok and could they assist in anything!!!
My Fiance and I love this hotel so much that we have already booked to go back to the Baron on 24th Sep next year for two weeks.
loved Baron hotel

Cant wait to go back
from A TripAdvisor Memberstay at the baron
from A TripAdvisor MemberAlthough the Baron is a self contained paradise in the middle of nowhere there is a free bus into nearby Naama bay which is great for resturants, bars and some quality haggling with the traders !!
I could go on and on but go see for yourself.
If you require any more info please drop me an email (no, i am not on commission !!). We had a great time and you will do too if you go to the Baron Resort in Sharm El Sheikh.
p.s. if anyone does go with hayes and jarvis say hi to Ibrahim the rep from Rich and Clare - top man !!
Top Local Tips for Sharm El Sheikh
Baron Spa / Health Club Try the coffe scrub, you get a one hour massage and a one hour scrub and wrap. Traditional Egyptian treatment, priced at about £30 it was lovely. i did smell like coffee for a day after but the golden colour is leaves on your skin really helps with tanning. Plus my skin was silky soft.
Airport Sharm airport is total chaos at present although a new terminal is being built. Be prepared to wait and be patient. If you are stayihng in the local area you do not need at visa so try to go stright to passport control. You may find 200 others doing the same so don't let it spoil your visit.
Blue/White taxis Don't use them, the drivers nly need pass the minimum of standards and 90% of the vehicles would never pass an MOT. Stick to hotel organised transport
