We were surprised just how far the hotel is away from Marsa Alam.......110km! The hotel shares the complex with The Pensee Hotel and you are free to use their facilities eg: gym, indoor pool but although we used those two, we preferred the atmosphere and friendliness at Utopia Beach. The restaurant was very good, some of the waiters are a little "pushy" and the service somewhat slow but the quality of the food (all buffet) is really good. At first glance you might think there is little choice but there are no burgers, chips, sausages etc etc and the food on offer has a very middle eastern theme and there is plenty of food. The beach bar for lunches is idyllic - - right on the beach, but the pool bar serving burgers and hot dogs is nothing special! Drinks at the bar are fairly limited but if you just want to drink (alcoholic drinks) beer, wine, gin, rum, whisky, vodka then you'll be fine.
