Going back For My 40th Stay

I shall be back at my second home, the Luxor Sheraton for my 40th stay on 23rd April this year. On this trip I am treating a friend of mine from work and feel sure she will find it a great deal more cosmopolitan than Spain or Mablethorpe! In all the time I have been going to the hotel I have never had any complaints other than a minor run-in with one of the new staff at check-in who was somewhat difficult and superior until I asked for the manager by name - surprising how pleasant and helpful he instantly became! The new pool is excellent, set in beautiful surroundings with excellent waiter service. One never tires of just lying back, soaking up the sun and generally being pampered. I would recommend this hotel without reservation. Good food, choice of restaurants, hotel shops, first class staff and service with no hovering for tips, comfortable rooms, 24 hour room service - should you want a fillet steak in bed at 3.00am and it's there within 15 minutes! I have read some reports of the food being too expensive but I cannot agree with this. At the end of the day wherever you are in the world you get what you pay for. Just remember when buying just about everything from the local people...bargain and never pay more than half of the asking price!! If the price does not suit you just say "no thank-you" and walk away. This is guaranteed to drop the price there and then. Karl

Just got home from my 38th stay at the Luxor Sheraton. Perfect as always and now feels like my second home. Not only do the staff greet me by name but also ask how my cat is by name. I am very impressed with the new second swimming pool with its waterfall and whirlpool bath. As always the food, service and staff attitude was excellent, with the exception of 1 newish staff member on the reception desk who I found a little awkward at check-in - until I asked for the manager by name - surprising how much more amenable he then became. Still, there's always one! I believe the large swimming pool is due for refurbishment around October or November of this year but is still a joy to get into when the temperature is well over 100F. Having a very leisurely breakfast on the terrace one never tires of looking out over the pool to the Nile and the west bank with its date palms, and the staff always seem to know what you want before you want it. For me this hotel truly lives up to the standard one would expect from the Sheraton chain. Will be back there probably in September for another visit. They say money can't buy happiness...Maybe not but it certainly helps you search for it in comfort, and that is what the Sheraton gives...comfort and pampering.

Great Location, atmosphere, & staff

We have been staying in the Sheraton, sometimes 2 or 3 times a year since 1996. Both my wife and sons, now in their 20's love it here and won't consider any other hotel in Luxor. Most of the staff know us know and look after us so well. Best pool location in Luxor, relaxed atmosphere and great service. Convenient fo exploring Luxor and West Bank, but quiet for relaxing.

I had a very relaxing holiday and the people were friendly. The food was great and the river Nile view superb. Never seen a crow with a grey vest top on in my life. Next stop Cairo!

My Second Home

Since 1993 I have stayed 36 times at Luxor Sheraton and am taking 5 family members in Sept this year. Renovation work underway right now but minimal disruption & no noise. Excellent in every way every visit. If you want unashamed pampering this is the place. Probably the best situated swimming pool in all Luxor. Have a leisurely breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Nile from the extensive buffet with freshly squeezed orange, and the coffee that just keeps on coming. I would not even consider an alternative hotel. The Sheraton for me truly does make dreams come true.

I have stayed at the Sheraton hotel twice before and would highly recommend this holiday to anyone old or a couple there is so much to see and do if you go travel in the hot air balloon its fantastic and visit the valley of the kings. The staff is friendly and fantastic at this hotel it is my favourite hotel and country that I love visiting.

Wonderful view of Nile from our balcony, better than other local hotels. Friendly and efficient staff and superb self service buffet with top class croissants. On southern edge of town away from bustle but handy to walk in.Take bed and breakfast rather than full/ half board - cheap and good restarants nearby. We'll go again next year.

The Sheraton hotel is a great and for my taste quite luxurious hotel at the outer lines of Luxor. At first sight the room seemed to be quite low in standard but as soon as you have stayed for several days you will quickly realise how beautiful the hotel is and how brilliant the staff is working. Even the shops inside are far better the ones outside, and not more expensive as one might think! I would visit the hotel for a second time if I was able to. It was a brilliant and relaxing holiday.

I have been to the sheraton in luxor twice now and have just booked to go again. The hotel staff are brilliant and the hotel is immaculate.
