Learn to say 'NO' Make it clear to Kalesh and Taxi drivers that you want to go diretly to your destination. Otherwise you are likely to be taken off the beaten track to visit their Uncle, Cousin, Brother etc who will try to give you a 'special deal' on pottery, papyrus, statues, perfume etc and will hastle you until you buy something. I ended up having to be quite rude sometimes, unfortunately.
getting around cheaply and no hassle agree all prices before trip agree the currency, when traveling in the local horse and carridges which there are tons, if you dont want to go to tourist shops make this clear to the driver otherwise he will take you to lots of shops as he is paid commission from these shops.
John and John's Fantastic, quality menu that has something to suite everyone. They even cook pork, bacon and ham!
