Superb holiday, fantastic staff, very very clean, food a good standard and everything was first class from start to finish. We are planning to go back next year for 2 weeks

First of all I'd like to say that Shedwan Hotel is a wonderful hotel, the room was so nice and the people in the hotel were kind, the prices were good to me & I think I'm planning to go there every year, I liked the nature & the amazing red sea, if u really like to enjoy ur time u have to spend ur vacation there........

This was really worth the money. The room was great, I got a double romm myself. And the staff were so kind and helpful, they gave me flowers to my room every day.
The rooms were keept tidy and nice, and the gardens were wery beautiful.
Nice beach, be careful about picking seashells, most of them are inhabited by animals and will run down to the water again!!!!
The only minus is the food in the main resturant, it was both expensive and tastless. the resturant at the enterance was much better and cheaper, tou should realy try out their bread!

Before I start, I should explain, my wife and I have slept in a wooden shack built on the flat roof of an hotel in Turkey, we do not consider ourselves fussy. Having just spent a week in the Shedwan golden beach, I would like to pass on useful information (hopefully) to others. The Shedwan is designated 3 stars from our Danish travel agent, where it finds those 3 stars has been hard to see this last week! The hotel is under periodic renovation, I don't know when they will get to the part of the hotel I stayed in, or if indeed it has just been renovated! The Shedwan is showing it's age, first impressions, the reception, lovely, light, cool, spacious. After you have your room key and come out of reception, it then becomes evident how rundown the hotel is, the rooms have been decorated by a blind painter (without meaning to offend blind people), the paint has been splashed on, in places where it shouldn't have been splashed on! The beds seemed to be home made bases with a spring mattress on top, were only OK. Electricity supplies can be sporadic, luckily we had only 2 short cut offs in our week. The majority of the buildings look tired and shabby, but the gardens/grounds look lovely, with an army of gardeners working hard everyday, keeping it looking that way, also a big thanks to the cleaning staff, who kept our shabby room spotless for the entire week. On our arrival, after depositing our bags in the room, we went down to the private beach, my wife had to try the water, she trod on a clump of oil, covered by sand, so we used the loungers on the beach for sunbathing, and the pool for swimming when we were at the hotel. The food is a story all of it's own, suffice to say, one of the morning dishes, an Egyptian dish called 'foul', (no joking!) was set on the warmers everyday of our weeks stay, and I mean the SAME pan, not freshly made or anything, but the self same pan, with the self same 'foul', everyday!!! The prices for everything in the hotel are outrageous, being nearly four times more expensive than everything in the supermarket just 20 metres from the entrance, example: water 1½ Egyptian pounds outside, 6 Egyptian pounds in the hotel, beer 4½ out 18 in, day trips 10-15 euros outside, the same trip from the hotel 43 euros!! Despite all of this we had a wonderful holiday, would readily go back to Hurghada but not to the Shedwan Golden Beach. This is not to be confused with the Shedwan Gardens Hotel.

Taxis Try not to take a bus - they are over crowded and smelly. Never pay more than 20 Egyptian pounds for a taxi anywhere within Hurghada. There are so many taxis around that someone will meet your price!
