Just don't go there!

The worst holiday of my life. Ripped off and poisened. 3 out of 4 spent half the week ill and the rest afraid to eat. Took all precautions including antiseptic hand-gel. Couldn't even make a cup of coffee when we arrived, but at least we had air-con - until the power cuts that is. The reef is dead, and had a maniac driver racing his mate on the one day we were well enough to go out. Just don't go there.

A four star hotel. Staff and locals very keen to practice English and therefore always keen to help. Food a bit dodgy - had to be careful and couldn't drink the water. Windsurfing, safe snorkling around a coral reef, unfortunately dead, but sea life plentiful and diverse. Marvelous diving. Aqua aerobics and dance lessons, kids club, camel rides, horses and organised excersions - luxor, cairo etc. Take euros as well as Egyptian pounds, The locals want them. We had a great time. You'll love it.

Basic apartment

Overall the resort is well maintained but the appartments are tired and well overdue a refurb. As for the food in the restaurant it is buffet food at its worst and there is little option but to eat there. The entertainment is tacky and always in German, the British traveller is not catered for on this resort. The only saving grace is the staff who are very very nice. Would we return? Not in a million years.

Not worth it

This is a mixed review as there were some good things about the place... they did try, but it was not a good experience...

Food was bland almost all the time.. and then you had to fight the Russians and Germans to get yours.. no line concept from them... some would just push in front of you to get theirs..

Pool was ALWAYS cold, even though the temp in the day was warm and the sun was shining all day... don't know how they could keep it so cold.. the hot water heater went out... a second room was very low water pressue and the temp would not remain the same... hot then cold then hot again without ever touching the faucet...

The rooms were acceptable if a little shoddy although no wildlife encountered. Remember to order your kitchen utensils and bath plug when you register. Food is bland but plentiful. There is a poorly stocked store on site. The continual loud music around the pool is very annoying as are the beach vendors who continually pester you for a massage, tattoo etc. All entertainment is geared for the Germans or the vast number of Russians. Its only real saving grace is lovely beach and warm sea.

Butlins at its worst!!!!!

The weather was the only good thing about this resort. It resembles a tired, run down holiday camp and everything is in German, including the entertainment.
The apartment did not contain any comfortable seating and the second bedroom doubled as a dining room. The kitchen contained a rusty old 2 ring hob and empty cupboards. I had to request crockery and cutlery.
The bathroom smelled of drains. The beach was the only place to escape the music that played all day. Avoid this place at all costs.

Not Entirely Bad!

I agree it wasn't the absolute best I've stayed at (only limited experiences though). However, the staff were very friendly and compensated for the less than wonderful state of the resort. The buildings, although clean, were in disrepair. However, we enjoyed the stay - great weather at least - beach was wonderful! Food wasn't as bad as some of the reviews say - don't understand the comments concerning it being lukewarm and tasteless. I enjoyed the buffets. Again, not the very best but not bad. The only thing that made the eating experience rough was fighting off the elbows, pushes, and shoves of the Russians who behaved like every meal was their last. Is rudeness a matter of national pride there?

50's holiday camp

Basic accommodation, no sitting room, tv in main bedroom with only bed to sit on. dining table in 2nd bedroom. Not suitable for families, pool too cold, paving broken & dangerous. Main restaurant self service and like a holiday camp, food in fish & pizza restaurant was good until found an opened staple in pizza. Taxis needed everywhere
because of distance from Hurghada. Visitors mainly Russian on cheap holiday. Beach & Garden areas were well maintained

Having read another report we tried to cancel this accomodation. We are glad we didn't. Although the accommodation is not as plush as some hotels in the area, it is basic, clean and tidy. As it says in an Arabic design. Crockery is not provided on arrival, but ask and they are happy to ablige you with it. All staff are friendy and restaurants good-if you don't mind buffets and fighting against the Russians!.My favorite was the Pizza fish bar by the beach where they BBQ. There was a large pool- a little cold this time of year, but it didn't stop my children playing in it.

Arrived at self catering apartment to find a completely empty kitchen. Utensils and crockery arrived 30 minutes after we did - without kettle! No plugs in sink or bathroom wash basin (I think this is standard throughout Egypt?). Food in main restaurant poor - hot food was lukewarm at best and all food was totally tasteless. Staff showed obvious lack of training. Buildings showed lack of maintenance. At least the monkeys have now gone. All in all thank God for the Red Sea and Luxor! It was a long week.
