I found the Turtles Inn in Elgouna good value for money, comparable with a travelodge standard, but with breakfast included!! It was clean and the staff were very helpful, the only minue was the showers were too small for my husband who is over 6 ft tall!! Would stay there again!! Also an excellent location in the lovely marina.

I won the holiday to the Turtles Inn in a competition through a national newspaper, it would never have entered my head to go to a place like this, or that I would enjoy it so much. The night we arrived was the Friday Fiesta, when the hotels serve food around the lagoon (barbecues etc, chefs in big white hats) and there was live music and entertainment, just outside the hotel. The hotel itself is quite basic although very comfortable - hence the three stars I'd give it. With no rooms with balconies - a drawback for me, I do like a nice balcony. Having said that the staff were very accommodating and the rooms were very clean with fresh towels as often as you wish, they also supply beach towels to be used at the Three Corners swimming pool which is free of charge to Turtles Inn customers. I used the dry cleaning service too, I can highly recommend the standard, it was so cheap and my linen trousers were perfect. YOu can pick up a toc toc taxi just outside the back door to take you to downtown El Gouna cheaply. The beach is a 10 minute walk around the lagoon or you can use any of the many beaches around the area. The hotels seemed to be a haven for scuba divers, every morning at breakfast there were at least two parties off to dive after breakfast so daytime there was very peaceful, plenty of good quality restaurants to eat around the lagoon too varying in price so there should be something to suit everyone. The only downside was the distance we had to travel to join excursions, although the ones we joined were well worth it!
