Great people,great holiday :)
from Zuzu88Exellent staff!
from HopealaivaWe were very satisfied with the hotel. Exellent staff, good food (which I did not find boring even after two weeks) ja nice surroundings. Both pools are absolutely marvelous and clean.
Only complaint is the wind (which of course is not the hotel´s fault). Too cold to stay here on January, and also December I think. Temperature can be over 20 C, but unless you get a very sheltered place on pools, no hope of nice sun bathing.
Would love to return in October or November when weather is at it´s best.

Kind staff, excellent food
from tbiCopenhagenquiet and idylic but amazing
from scottishtraveller74Lovely Holiday
from lynnphThe food was good and varied each day, the entertainment were a bit iffy although extremely friendly and not at all pushy.
The drinks were a little on the large size, but heh we were on our holidays.
THE ONLY CRITICISM IS THE BEACH, we were informed there was a shuttle boat to the beach 30 metres away, but this has now beed stopped and replaced by a bus which takes 15 mins to another beach. The only drinks available were soft drinks from cool boxes. I think they be working on a new beach area but it is too far away from the hotel.
If you are not beach goers and are not taking children with you then this is the place to go. It is very quite and extremely relaxing and we had a fab week just chilling out.
Excellent hotel at unbeatable location
from lesley150I'll try to give you as much info as i can...
The rooms...
We were lucky enough to be given a huge room overlooking the Marina and i can't really fault it. We had a double bed and a single bed ( i beleive most UK tour operators have this triple room in their brochure, Thomas Cook do) and a table with 2 chairs. The TV showed about 10 english channels including BBC Prime and some movie channels.
The shower cubicle was normal size but beware of the shower pressure - or lack of pressure should i say!! No quick showers here!
We had a couple of wardrobes, one with a number code safe in it and a fridge.
There is a table and chairs on the balcony but don't leave anything there to dry unless it's tied up due to the wind. My boyfriends shorts are probably still flying around somewhere!
The bars - there are 4 bars, the Lobby bar which is the main bar, the pool are in the main block, pool bar in the 2nd block and the Lounge bar in the 2nd block. There is also a beach bar but you can only get soft drinks here as part of the all inclusive deal. You can get bottled beer and spirits but you have to pay for them.
Beware of the size of the spirits they serve. They fill half your glass with vodka! We got used to asking for a seperate glass of Sprite with ours so we could mix it up a bit. The cocktails are nice. They do 2 different ones a day and they are on the menu on the bar. Some are a bit iffy and they are always nicer in the Lounge Bar as they make them fresh as opposed to the ready made up ones at the Lobby bar.
The Lobby bar is nice of an evening as they have a singer to keep you entertained. He is quite good at most songs but a bit iffy on a few!
The Lounge Bar is nice but was always really quiet when we were there unless it was quiz night or kareoke night. Follow the signs in the street to get there.
You can get rolls at both pool bars after about 4pm to tide you over till dinner.
The pool/beach
Both pools are nice although the 2nd pool was a bit too sheltered for the time we were there. Both have childrens areas and have bars. At the main pool they do have entertainment in the day time such as bowls and darts. They don't pester you to take part though. They also have music there, apart from around lunch time.
Behind the main pool is a sandy terrace and where the boat will take you to the beach which is a 1 min journey.
The beach is nice but the water is very shallow until you walk about 400 meters out. If you do want to snorkel, head out towards the deep water and veer to the left where you will see a clear path through the rocks. Many people will say you can't snorkel off the shore here but i disagree as we saw loads of fish around our feet. Just get some coral shoes as i got a nasty cut from it and avoid doing it here if it is really windy as you get pushed towards the rocks. The water is so salty that even though it may be shallow in places, you can easily float over it.
There is a company on the beach called Alex Safari that does trips and they will approach you if you go to the beach but once they have told you about there trips they pretty much leave you alone. The same goes for Shabba with his camel Kasanova. It is a extremelly well behaved camel and Shabba just likes to sit and talk to you sometimes without wanting to sell you anything.
The restaurants - There are 3 restaurants at the hotel, the Oceania buffet which is the one included in all inclusive, the Chez Pascal Belgium restarant and the Dolce Vita Italian. We found the food in the Oceania to be always hot and quite varied. The bread was fresly baked each day and was great. They have a different theme for dinner each night such as Italian buffet and International buffet. For each meal they always offer something cooked freshly outside such as pancakes for breakfast and burgers for lunch.
After 2 weeks we did find the food a bit samey though as you would anywhere and this is where the Dine Around thing came in handy.
We ate at the Dolce Vita a couple of times and while the pizza is nothing special the pasta is fantastic - highly recommended. We also ate at the Chez Pascal and the steak was great. You get a credit of £3 per person to eat at these 2 which doesn't seem much but the food is cheap so soup, pizza and ice cream cost us £7 in total! The best thing is you keep your all inclusive drinks at these 2 restaurants.
Using the Dine Around you can also dine at other restaurants at other hotels and in the Marina. Highly recommended are the Captains inn Steakhouse and the Tandoor Indian. The amount of credit differs for each place, eg. for the Captains it is £5 pp.
The area around the hotel is the Marina and it is very quiet most of the time apart from at the Marina Party on a friday night. On the friday night it changes completely and people seem to appear from nowhere! A lot of the entertainment is the same but they make a big effort to put it on and it goes on for about 3 or 4 hours. it's worth a look definatly.
The staff at the hotel are nice and the cleaners will leave all kinds of towel creatures in your room! They really appreciated the small tips we left too. We didn't the restaurant staff directly as we didn't seem to have the same waiter more than a couple of times so we placed our tips straight in the box so they were shared. The staff here didn't seem like they did things for tips though in all fairness and were just pleasant regardless.
If you fancy a trip on a sailing boat then the hotel owns one you will see outside called Galetta. it's about £40.00 for the day but we heard reports that it was well worth it.
To get around El Gouna, the shuttle Bus costs £1.50 per week or a Tok Tok is 50p per person to anywhere. Taxis are only £1.50 to anywhere to. We found the shuttle buses were great and a good way to feel the wind in your hair when you are to hot! Get your ticket from the driver.
If you fancy a go on the Shisa ( thats prob the wrong spelling) pipe, they have them at the hotel on the bit near the seats outside right next to the water and they are 60p each till they burn out.
There is prob stacks of stuff i've missed but i hope this has helped. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to the Three Corners, it was great and El Gouna is also a gem in the Red Sea.
If you have any questions then just post them in the forum and i'll do my best to help

Quiet Get Away
from RacraIt is a very quiet hotel set in the equally quiet El Gouna resort, both are very clean, safe and up market - with beautiful yachts in the harbour.
We are divers and used the Blue Brothers on site dive shop, which was very good and the diving works out about £20 a dive, but equipment is a bit pricey to hire. The only other thing is that a boat goes out each day about 8.15am getting back about 4.30pm, after two dives - so it is a long day on the water, but the underwater world is worth it and the boats are very good along with the lunch on board at £2.50 each!!
The hotel offers a dine-around facility, where they give you a credit towards a few other restaurants in the area - we only had time for the Italian but it was excellent and well worth the extra!
There is lots to do from El Gouna and we wished we had more time to explore. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a quiet get away with the option to do activites if you want to, the hotel offer a great range of them free including yoga, gym, local trips, games etc - or if you want more adventure the quad biking is fantastic (especially the afternoon/eve trip)!
The only down side is that the 'beach' whilst easy to get to (1min across the harbour on a boat) does not really offer any opportunities for swimming or snorkelling, although the hotel pools are excellent.
Overall we had a wonderful stay, excellent food, good choice of drinks, great rooms and hotel facilities.

Great cheap get away x
from princessartoisthe food is ok - we went out most evenings for dinner
- Do yourself a favour buy a few bottles to take with you in duty free as the local drink tastes like chemicals.
Weather was lovely - the little boat runs fairly often back and forward or go for a strool aropund the shops
Some cheap copy bags to have bargin (but you can get most at the airport on the way home.
I would NOT recommend the dolce vita rest - there are other locals that are much nicer.
Quite a few germans there - but overall its much cleaner and tidy than i expected.
Nice little break for couples very quite.
Loved it!!
from tinanaafiThe staff were extremely helpful, and it was always a treat to see which of the towel sculptures would be there on our return!
Food was good, plenty of variety, and that from the pickiest eater ever!
I would definitely go back.
loved it, loved it. loved it!!!!
from lindloothought they sounded 'too good to be true'. However everything
was absolutely Fantastic and completely hassle-free!!
We were a little disappointed that our room did not have a balcony and had 2 single beds (most unusual) - however we did check with
Mohammed at the front desk before we started unpacking and
he was more than helpful. He explained our room was actually
just a standard room but he could upgrade us to a corner room.
So we had a look and decided to take it as it was well worth the small extra charge.
The 2 pools were very well maintained and it was good there was a 'quiet' pool to chill out and another where all activies took place.
The staff were just brilliant - really appreciated the fact that we
'tried' to order drinks in Arabic. The odd 'Shokran' (thank you)
here and there works wonders!!
Food in hotel was very good but not fantastic but there was always something even for the fussy eaters.
You have to experience the Tok Toks (pronounced Tuk Tuk)
- they are little 3 wheeled vehicles
- they're great fun. You can pick them up anywhere and only costs 5.00 Egyptian pounds per person for anywhere in the resort.
There's not a great deal going on in the resort - especially
wouldn't think it would be a place for young families - but
the scenery is stunning and it's just a great place for totally
switching off for a week or two!
I could go on for pages and pages but this one place you don't
want to miss.
Top Local Tips for El Gouna
Not the place for young clubbers or young families El Gouna seemed a very quiet, relaxed place, a few bars, but if you are a 18-30 clubber this would be too quiet for you. Could be good for families, but again young children may get a little bored, although Ocean View hotel did have alot of activities during the day which may keep the little ones amused. Make sure you don't drink the water or even clean your teeth with it. I think Ocean View uses bottled water to wash salads and make ice cubes, but to be safe I avoided them anyway. Had been told by a colleague about problems with nasty bugs and was advised to use anti bacterial hand cleanser, esp before eating. We did this, and thankfully had no tummy upsets. Could have been over reacting with the cleanser, but better safe than sorry!
Dine Around.... Make sure that you use your Dine Around ability.....it's a great way to try new foods and you don't pay too much for it either!
Brilliant bus, boat and TOKTOK service Buy a weekily bus/boat ticket to get around El Gouna. It costa around £1.50 each for a WEEK. Bus and boat service frequent.
