On our recent visit to Cairo, we stayed at this wonderful hotel. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The majority of staff spoke and understand English very well. They made my children feel very welcome too. The rooms were kept very clean. The security provided was excellent. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely be recommending them to friends and family.

Do stay here iIf you are on a limited budget,do stay at the Windsor Hotel, which at $40 a night is a complete bargain.If your budget will stretch to it the Nile Hilton is very luxurious and has a few good shops. Do try and carry small change with you as taxi drivers often won't change 100 le notes

Make Sure You Understand Egyptian Money We got confused between 50 Egyptian piasters and 50 Egyptian pounds. The 50 piaster note is much smaller than any of the pound notes, and is really only good for a bathroom tip. We thought we had more Egyptian money than we really did due to this issue, and although vendors readily take US dollars, Euros, etc, government touristic sites, ie, the Pyramids, do not.
