This is not a hotel to spend a day in - you must be out and about and look on this place as somewhere to rest your head for the night. If you want comfort look elsewhere. Beware the lift from the airport - it will cost you much more than you should be paying. 50 E.pounds is more than enough to pay - but get a taxi from the street. Taxis are plentiful and come past the hotel every couple of minutes.

I travel to Cairo every other month on business. Stay a month at a time. Always at Horus. Not flashy but homey. A significant number of regulars shows good customer loyalty. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms clean, the service good. TV and refrigerator in the rooms. Very pleasant lounge and balcony/terrace. The location is relatively quiet, the neighbourhood full of small boutiques of many kinds. Access to a wide variety of cuisine from American fast food, to local, Chinese, Korean, French, English Pub, Italian, cafés with wireless internet connections. The staff will even help you order in, if you want Indian or other exotic. Their own kitchen gives excellent food for the price. Plentiful taxi service. Will arrange airport pickup or tour. My rating is for value for money plus much more.

Basically grew up in this hotel, from the age of 6 to 15 so know it very well!!!

The staff excellent very friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough for us, Hotel exceptional. Lived in Hotel for year while working in Egypt, would love to go back would be destination hotel of choice.
