Worst hotel in the world

We were promised a 4 star hotel as it said on the official website, this was not even 1 star. It was in constant use by prostitutes! This made our group very uncomfortable. The service and the hotel itself was disgusting. Bathrooms, catering hall and our rooms were all dirty and in poor condition. The music was too loud and was played all night. The staff were unconsiderate with our problems. Cleaning staff had also broken into our locked suitcases and damaged our personal belongings. DO not book or stay with this hotel!

We were told this was a 4* hotel, what a joke it has nothing of the sort. I would not be exaggerating the slightest by stating it actually has no official star rating. I'm actually shocked that this particular hotel HORMOHEB is licensed to be open bcause it is really not fit for human living. It was impossible to breathe because of the damp and not to mention the smoke which was unbearable no go for Asthma sufferers. Rooms filthy, dirty beds not made. Carpets filthy and dirty Springs comming out of bed poking you through out the night. Noise all night so no sleep especially from the disco/club downstairs, not to mention the hurrendous traffic. Food was horrible and unhygenic. Unfriendly staff apart from one person Shonooda who was the only decent man in the whole of the hotel who had some morals and manners and a heart. As for the rest, too interested in where you're from and dependent on that was the way you were treated. The ammount of lies, drama created by all the managment was beyond comprehension. At night in particular there seemed to be all sorts of dodgy activites taking place. Egypt is a beautiful place rich of culture and history and some amazing people. I would definitley go there again, but never stay even near this area because of all the horrible memories attached to this hotel. It was like a nightmare and your waiting to be awakened by something, but no one is waking you up from your misery.

Horrendous, horrible Hormoheb Hotel

The dirtiest hotel I have ever spent a night in. The sheets, the blanket, the carpet and the toilets were dirty. There was hair in the bath tub and even in the toilet accessories tray. The hotel smelled of smoke from the lobby to the rooms. The chairs in the restaurant (for our buffet breakfast) were stained and dirty and the plates weren't too clean. We were really happy to board our coach for our next destination next morning. All travel/hotel reservation sites should stop selling room nights for this hotel until they clean up their act. Horrible, horrendous are just too mild for this filthy hotel.

2-3 stars at best

Nice lounge, friendly and helpful people, good restaurant (to be preferred over nearby McDonalds and PizzaHut). But rooms and room service are substandard: We had two rooms and stayed four days, and twice one room and once the other room weren't cleaned (beds not made, no fresh towels), so we had it done in the evening while we were out for dinner. One room was unacceptably small (squeeze between bed and wardrobe, bed and balcony [with standing room only]), the fridge was very old, and the TV was not working (3 channels max, and volume couldn't be regulated down and was too loud). The other room was large enough, but had no windows and no daylight. Breakfast starts only at 7am which isn't good for early tours. One morning there was no bread (only pastries). It was difficult to sleep during the night (even in the 4th floor) because we could hear the electronic drum beat from the disco during the whole night. The pool was closed because it was winter. Travel agency told us it was a 3-star hotel but the rooms were definitely 2 stars max. Now I've seen it posted as a 4-star on the internet which I would consider misrated.
