As Algiers has limited amount of hotels, we choose the Sheraton as it was on the beach and because it was a 5 star hotel!!!!.
Unfortunately, it had staff with "do not care attitude and we (the guests) were an inconvenience. The food was not 5 star quality or service and the staff used the hotel as their own home, offering to help as a favour.
The room was smaller then most UK Travelodge’s but was 5 times the price, the room was not clean and most services did not work. The water was turned off on the 4th day without notice and no notification of when it was coming back on was ever given. The room was cleaned when the staff could do it, and on a couple of occasions the staff entered the room in the evening to turn down the room, it felt we where being turned over. This again was unprompted and felt very uncomfortable. It seamed everyone was complaining and most time their was a queue to do so. After the 6th night, we could not take any more and decided to leave, we had complained and got 1 night stay for free, but still ended up with a bill of £2000 for 1 weeks stay, I would not have minded if we had a great time with real service.
As we get less and less time to enjoy holidays it felt even worse when we got the bill.
Never again....
