Rooms very basic but clean Great place to crash. the rooms i have stayed in 1 and 2 look onto a very busy, loud road so having a joint at 3am leaning out the window is class. The owner Riaz and his staff are a good laugh. remember, you get what you pay for in amsterdam.
my parents and I stayed there last week. I read lots of review about that hotel. most of the reviews are complains about that hotel. when we got there we were abit shocked. the hotel looks so different from the pictures on the booking website. It is stinks and dirty(there must be more descriptions about that place). They just check your room but not clean it:) They refuse doing any services, because they were busing enjoy doing nothing at work.
today I got e-mail from the booking website that said we did not show up at the hotel and they are charging me for staying there 1 night (90 euro). oh ya, that is because the reception refused us to use credit card, so we payed cash for 3 nights. this thing has never happened to me before, I will talk to my bank and see what I can do. It is really worth to pay alittle more to stay some other place instead of.
After checking in, my friends and I went out for dinner, came back and our room had been broken into. Staff refused to reimburse us, tried to keep the money we had payed for the remaining nights. Ended up having to stay the night as everything else was booked, spent the entire time trying not to come into contact with the bedding which has incredibly dirty!
The "hotel" is situated at the worst street of red light district and drug sellers patrol outside the window. The area feels really unsafe during night time.
The hotel cleanliness is worst what we've seen on our numerous trips around Europe as well as Asia! The blankets have probaply never been washed (blankets didn't have separate sheet), sheets had cigarette burns in them, there was writings on the wall and lights didn't work. We didn't even dare to try the shower (there was one though).
Staff was OK, but everything else was horrible. We only stayed for one night (sleeping with all of our clothes on) and checked out first thing in the morning.
I can not recommend this to anyone unless you're looking for cheap place to do your crack!
