Cartagena - This city on the Caribbean front has magnificent beaches and a very rich history.
Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta - This mountain range that ascends straight from the ocean is a beauty like very few. Unfortunately the terrain is not ery tourist friendly, thus it would best to view this wonder from nearby towns like Santa Maria.
Leticia - This is the entry point into the Amazon from Colombia. It is quite a modern city in is growing fast into its neighbouring Brazilian town, Marco.

But the temperature stays the same all year round. In Bogota it is between 10-18C, Cartagena 23-30C, Medellin 18-23C. |

Chicaque Parque Natural - outside Bogotá. - This is a privately owned park that stretches over 300 hectares of land. It has a beautiful forest that is enjoyed by walkers and cyclists alike.
Laguna de Guatavita - Guatavita Nueva. - To walk around this beautiful lake will take you about an hour and a half, but the beauty of this sight is truly worth it. The legend of El Dorado started here.
Parque Nacional Puracé - Puracé. - You can view several volcano site here, including Volcán Puracé and Volcanes los Coconucos (the nine craters). Pan de Azúcar is amountain top that is covered in snow throughout the year. There are also several bird and wildlife species to view in the park, as well as the source of four of the country’s greatest rivers.

Marbella Beach - Cartagena. - This beach is as beautiful as Bocagrande, which is populated by tourists, but is a bit quiter.
La Piscina - Cañaveral. - This beautiful beach forms a natural swimming pool where you can even enjoy snorkelling.

| You can travel by road or air in Colombia, as the transport infrastructure is of a fairly good standard. The cheapest mode of getting around will probably be by bus, which will also allow you to see colourful Colombia of you travel by day. Cycling through the country could be quite eciting, but be sure to enquire about your personal safety on whichever routes you choose to take. |

June - Providencia Island Carnival. - You will experience a lot of calypso and reggae music at this joyful festival.
20 July - Independence Day on San Andrés. - The island of San Andrés has several celebrations going in honour of this day.
Second week of November - Independence Celebrations in Cartagena. - People dress up in masks as they dance in the streets to maracas and drums.
