Virginia Discovery Museum - 524 E. Main Street. The Virginia Discovery Museum is a great place to take the children, with many hands-on exhibits and programs. The museum has many activities for children, and they can dress up as firefighters; soldiers; police; and other grownups. There is also a Fun and Games exhibit, which offers an excellent range of games, including bowling and giant checkers.
Albemarle County Court House - 501 E. Jefferson Street. The Court House, in the historic downtown area, was the centre of village activity in colonial days. The Court House a facade and portico that dates back to the Civil War. It is open Monday to Friday from 09h00 - 17h00, and admission is free.
Hot Air Ballooning - Bear Ballooning. This is one of the most popular activities to do when in Charlottesville, and is a not to be missed when in town. Bear Ballooning offer sunrise flights that ake you on an hour long journey over the Charlottesville, as well as the surrounding foothills. The tour ends with champagne at the Boar's Head Inn. |

Blue Light Bar & Grill - 120 E. Main Street. This is the best seafood restaurant in Charlottesville, and it is very popular with locals and tourists alike. They serve a wide range of excellent seafood dishes, including monkfish coated with crushed citrus, served under a slightly spicy Thai-style basil sauce with rice. The prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent.
Escafe - 102 Old Preston Ave. This fun and lively bistro is one of the most popullar places in town to have a inexpensive and excellent meal. When it's warm the whole bistro opens up and you can sit outside, enjoying the lovely weather. They serve a wide range of international dishes, from salads and sandwiches to seafood dishes.
The Hardware Store - 316 E. Main Street. This is one of th emost interesting restaurants in town, and it is decorated with old rolling ladders; stacks of oak drawers that once contained screws, nuts and bolts; and vintage advertising signs. They serve a wide range of excellent American dishes, including quiches; crab cakes; salads; hamburgers; sandwiches; pasta, and barbecued ribs. |

Mutt's Family Pub - 155 Seminole Ct. This is one of the most popular pubs in town, and is frequented by a mixed group of locals and tourists. The pub has video games; a jukebox; and a number of other games to play. This is a great place to have a drink and mingle with the locals.
Club 216 - 218 W. Water Street. This is on of hottest and most happening nightclubs in Charlottesville, and it is very popular with a younger crowd of locals. DJs spin a wide range of all the latest dance music to really get the party going. This is the place to go if you're looking to party all night and meet some of the locals.
Starr Hill Brewery - 709 W Main Street. This is another excellent bar in town, and it is popular with the serious beer drinking locals. They serve a wide range of beers from all over the world, but the best beer is the one that is brewed on the premises. This is a great place to go and have a few cold ones, while meeting new people. |

Azalea park - Old Lynchburg Road at the southern edge of the City. This beautiful park covers an area of 23 acres, and has a Little League baseball field; a concession stand; basketball courts; swing sets; and playground for children. This is a great place for the whole family to go and relax, having some fun amongst nature.
Forest Hills Park - Forest Hills Avenue. This 7.35 acre park is filled with oak trees and has an amazing view of Carter's Mountain. The park is a great place for the whole family to have some fun outdoors, with a Little League baseball field; concession stand; picnic facilities; and a playground with slides; swing sets; a merry-go-round; animal rockers; as well as a horseshoe pit. |
