Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory – One mile north of I-89 on Route-100 in the centre of Waterbury. This is not only the premier tourist attraction in Waterbury but in the whole of Vermont. Tours of the factory take place every half hour and at the end you are given a free mini-scoop of the delectable stuff. There is a gift shop on the site and an ice-cream stall so you can indulge to your hearts content.
Walking Tours – Take a walking tour of Waterbury’s historic old town and view the fine old buildings along the route. These include the Waterbury Inn, which is a four storey Victorian Hostelry built in 1865, and The Central Vermont Railway station, built in 1875.
Birding - in Waterbury covers everything from chickadees to osprey to wild turkeys. Great blue herons, loons, mergansers, and mallards nest along the shore of the reservoir. The area also boasts nesting osprey, woodpeckers, and marsh hawks.
Stowe – A short drive from Waterbury is this lovely nineteenth-century village set in the heart of the town. At the centre of the village is a white-spired meeting house and a pretty green. The backdrop to the village is the magnificent Mount Mansfield, which at 4393 feet is Vermont’s highest mountain.
The Waterbury Historical Society Museum – Second floor, Waterbury Public Library. Memorabilia and written records on Waterbury's history are held in this museum along with an interesting collection of artefacts. The museum is run and maintained by local volunteers. |

McCarthy’s - Mountain Road, Stowe. If you are in Stowe in time for breakfast, try this cafe; they serve the best for breakfast for miles around.
Arvad's - 3 South Main Street.This is a pub and grill style restaurant featuring everything from prime rib to pasta primavera. Everything is made fresh daily in their kitchen.
Marsala Salsa - Stowe Street, 4182 Stowe-Waterbury Road. An exotic fusion of Mexican and Caribbean cuisine is served here, include Baja Rellenos, Curry Chicken, and Grilled Island Shrimp. Enjoy live music on Fridays.
Tanglewoods - 179 Guptil Road, Waterbury Centre, The restaurant serves American Cuisine in a renovated Vermont Barn. The dining room is cosy and is ideal for special occasions. There is also a Cafe Menu - designed for an informal night out.

The Alchemist - 23 South Main Street. This is a brewery pub specializing in handcrafted beer and home made pub fare. In addition to their house-made ales, they have an eclectic menu featuring Vermont products and seasonal produce.
Philthy Ox Saloon - 11 Congress Avenue. This bar has a with a large selection of drinks and a friendly atmosphere.
Oasis Sports Bar - 915 Bank Street. A relaxed bar with TV’s to catch up on the days sporting events.
Berry's Emerald Pub - 894 Bank Street.If are a devotee of Irish pubs, this is the place for you.

| The Green Mountain Range forms the backbone of Vermont are buried in snow for most of the winter. In a number of places, trees have been cut away to create ski-runs, but on the whole the mountain views from Highway-100, which runs up from the south, are unspoiled and quite spectacular.
