Les Schwab Amphitheater - Fantastic location near the Deschutes River, for this lovely spot for picnics, Live shows, special family occasions or just as a meeting place. The Old Mill District is the downtown area that has been revived and this is the cultural centre of the area.
The High Desert Museum - 59800 South U.S. Highway 97, A huge exhibit area that will delight children as well as Mum and Dad. From the main building you can hike the short way to another large hall.The museum will educate you as to the desert environment. Allow a half day for this one.
Bend Public Library - The brand new downtown state of the art facility enjoys a large area of reading. Computer lab and internet access.They also have exhibitions about subjects of interest to the town.
Inclimb - 550 Southwest Industrail Way, Studio 39, Located in the Old Mill District, this massive indoor climbing
centre features 8,000 Sq Ft of climbing terrain, with rocks and boulders, overhangs, footholds and handholds. You'll never have to worry about the weather and gear can be hired.

Meadows at the Lodge - Located at the Sunriver Resort, this upmarket restaurant has long been a favourite with locals. Not only for the great views of the golf course and Mount Bachelor, also for the consistantly fine food that's served. The award winning wine list is extensive and there is an inventive childrens menu, so a good choice for the family.
Pilot Butte Drive-In - 917 Northeast Greenwood Avenue, If you like your burgers Big, juicy and tasty, then you will not leave here dissapointed. Always voted in the local press as the best burger in town, but they do all the other food well and open from morning till night. You can stay in your car or eat inside, either way you won't be hungry when you leave.
Ernesto's Italian Restaurant - 1203 Northeast Third Street, A Bend institution, The family restaurant that is always busy and offers traditional Italian Pizza's and Pasta, Good sized portions, friendly service and value for money. Children are well catered for and there is a bar on site. All the ingrediants of a relaxing family meal.
High Tides Seafood Grill - 1045 Northwest Bond Street, The popular restaurant is situated in the perfect downtown position. High Tides is not only known for their seafood, but steaks and chicken done your way to
perfection. The desserts are to die for, and this is a great all round fine establishment. Open for lunch and dinner, except closed on Sunday.

Aviemore Arms Pub & Grille - 1020 Northwest Wall, This downtown bar is decorated as a typical British pub and is always a fun place to be. Top class live entertainment is enjoyed at the weekends. Good old pub-grub is served for lunch and dinner. The pub is enjoyed by locals and visitors are always welcome to come join in the fun.
Deschutes Brewery & Public House - 1044 Bond Street, Named after the river in Bend,You can get a taste of Europe in the downtown area with this old style brewery. Tours are on Saturdays, but every day you can enjoy their home made delicious brews and of course a restaurant that features filling and tasty food from around the world.
Grover's Pub and Pizza Company - 939 Southeast. Second Street. This is a popular pub and the visitor can meet the locals here, and try one of the original speciality pizzas. For a night on the town you will do no better than Grover's.

Mountain View Mall - 63455 North Highway 97, This shopping centre is located towards the north of town and is the hub of shopping in the area. With over 50 shops including the biggies of Emporium, JC Penney and Kmart. There is also a food court, a cinema complex and kids amusements. A good rainy day destination.
The Old Mill District - 545 Southwest Powerhouse Drive, The east bank of the picturesque Deschutes River is where you will find this historic saw mill, that has been pleasantly converted to an area with shopping, restaurants and entertainment. It's a wonderful place to be and on a nice day to take a walk along the river.
Bend River Mall - Not as large as the Mountain View centre, but a bit more upmarket with the anchor tenants being Bon Marche and Sears. Bookstores, classy coffeee shops and restaurants make this a relaxing and leisurely way to shop. The Mall has always got entertainment and promotions on the go. |
