The Blowing Rock – Located at 432 Rock Road. This is North Carolina’s oldest tourist attraction, and is a gigantic cliff 4,000 feet above sea level that overhangs Johns River Gorge. The Blowing rock has an observations tower, gift shops, and a waterfall in its gardens.
Fun 'N Wheels – Located at 2788 Highway 105 South, this is the High Country’s Action Centre and affords great family fun. Amongst the attractions for kids are the Formula ‘K’’ Go Cart Rides, ‘Krazy Kars’, and Kiddie Ferris Wheel, to name just a few of the fun things to do. With full-time supervision by trained staff, the centre is open until 10,30 pm daily.
Grandfather Mountain – Located at 2050 Blowing Rock Highway, this is the finest scenic attraction of the area, and is situated at the bottom of Humpback Mountain in Linville Valley, where the mysterious and fascinating ‘Linville Caverns’ have been opened for public view. Other attractions in this beautiful part of the country are the Mile High Swinging Bridge, a museum, restaurant, and much more.
Tweetsie Railroad – Located at Highway 321, at this Wild West theme park, you can take the family for a three-mile ride with the authentic steam engine, known as Tweetsie. There are a multitude of other attractions at the park, including panning for gold, live entertainment, rides, and a deer park, to a few.

Coffey's Restaurant & Bar – Located at 179 Howard Street, this is restaurant where not only the food is great, but the atmosphere rocks. A meal at this friendly place can be served inside at the Zinc Bar, or outside on The Deck.
Bojangles – Located at 1064 Blowing Rock Road, the service at Bojangles is both fast and friendly, the food is good, especially their famous Chicken Biscuits, and the ambience relaxed.
Pepper's Restaurant – Located at 240 Shadowline Drive, for food from sandwiches to fine dining, Pepper’s restaurant is one of the best spots around. The evening menu features Seafood, Steaks, Pasta, and homemade desserts. Beer and wine is also served.
The Wildflower – Located at 783 West King St., this is an excellent restaurant with really ‘fine’ dining. The service is superb, and the ambience one of casual sophistication.
