Wilson's Creek National Battlefield - This is one of the main attractions in Springfield. The visitors centre houses exhibits on the battle; a 13 minute film; a 6 minute fiber optics map program; and a bookstore. In the park there is a lot to see and do, you can take walks through the beautiful natural surroundings and look at the battlefield. The entrance fee to the park is $3 for adults and children under 16 are free.
National Avenue Christian Church - This is old church is one of the sights in Springfield not to be missed, with its beautiful church tower. The church is open to the public seven days a week, and is still in use to this day. The architecture inside and outside the church is amazing.
Jefferson Street Footbridge - This footbridge is one of the most amazing structures in Springfield, and is well worth checking out when in the city. With its beautiful white suspensions and supports it is breathtaking to view at sunset and early evening. Taking a stroll on the bridge is one of the highlights of any trip to the city. |

Golden Corral - 2020 E. Primrose St. This is one of the best restaurants in Springfield and is very popular with locals at dinner time. They serve a wide range of excellent American style dishes, including the best steaks this side of the Atlantic. The food is excellent and the prices affordable, they always have daily specials and promotions that are worth trying.
Rib Crib - 425 W. Sunshine St. This barbecue restaurant is the place to go if you're looking to have some of the best ribs you've ever tasted, as the name suggests they specialise in ribs. This is one of the most popular restaurants in the city, with locals and tourists alike. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable.
The Salad Co. - 1338 E. Battlefield. This cafe is the place to go if you're looking for something a little lighter and healthier. They serve a wide range of salads and vegetarian dishes, all made with the freshest ingerdients available. The food is outstanding and the prices very reasonable, that's why it's popular with locals and tourists alike. |

MudLounge - 321 E. Walnut St. This coffee bar and cocktail lounge has been a favourite with the trendy and arty locals for many years. They specialize in coffee; martinis; wine; more than 70 specialty beers; appetizers; and desserts. This is a great place to kick back, relax and have some great conversation mixing with some of the locals.
Springfield Brewing Company - 305 S. Market Ave. This bar is not to be missed when in Springfield, and it is very popular with tourists to the city. They serve the award winning craft beer which is prepared in-house, along wiht a wide variety of beers; wines; and other drinks. There is live music being performed every night. This is a great place to go and have some fun, a few drinks and meet some people.
Centerfold - 2800 W Sunshine St. This is one of the best night clubs in Springfield and is popular with a younger crowd of locals. DJs play a wide range of all the most popular dance and pop its. There is a wide selection of drinks at the bar and the prices are reasonable. This is the place to go if you're looking to dance till the early hours of the morning. |

Fantasic Caverns - 4872 N. Farm Rd. 125. This is a great place to take the children. There are 50 minute guided tours on offer, that take you along an ancient underground riverbed filled with amazing rock formations. This ride through cave is a must for the whole family.
Dickerson's Park Zoo - 3043 N. Fort Ave. This zoo is a reat place to take the children on a day trip, with more than 500 animals representing 160 different species. The zoo is famous for its successful breeding programs of the Asian elephant, cheetah and maned wolf. The zoo has alot to offer the whole family, with shops and restaurants added on to the wild life on exhibition. |
