Branson Scenic Railway The Ozark region of Missouri is known for its stunning scenic beauty, and the best way to take in the natural wonders is to ride in a glass-topped railroad car. The Branson Scenic Railway takes passenger from downtown Branson to Galena and back again, and crosses over Lake Tanycomo on a steel arch trestle, on through tunnels and the Ozark foothills.
Highway 76 This 7 mile strip along the Missouri State Highway is bright with neon-lit theatres, hotels, motels, and every kind of tacky tourist enticement imaginable. Great fun for those who are out for a good time, and to hell with the refinement.
Shepherd of the Hills Homestead & Outdoor Theatre This play is the longest running outdoor drama ever performed, opening in 1959 and continuing until today. Written in 1907 by Harold Bell Wright, it is a semi-biographical story of life in Ozark. It is played out on the site where the playwright when he wrote the drama. Performances run from early spring to the end of October.
Silver Dollar City Situated at Marvel Cave, one of Ozarks oldest attractions, and designated as a US National Landmark. Silver Dollar City was created as a frontier town on the land in front of the cave as an added attraction, and although it only contained a church, log cabin and a few shops, it has expanded to 61-acre theme park dedicated to preserving the Ozark culture of the 1880s.
