BANGOR ATTRACTIONS Add your favourite attraction
Bangor Museum and Centre for History - 159 Union Street, This unusual museum traces the history of Bangor, through decorated 19th century rooms.There are collections of historic photographs of the area and in the Memorial Exhibit Room you can view a collection of civil war items. There is plenty to amuse the little one's also.

Cole Land Transportation Museum - 405 Perry Road, The history of transport on the streets of Maine can be seen here. Included are old fire engines, police vehicles, bus transport and snow movers. Plenty of old photos as well.

Blackbeard's USA - 339 Odlin Road, This is primarily an amusement park, but it's a great outing for the family with the automatic baseball ring, miniature golf, karting on a banked track and trout fishing in their own pond.

Maine Discovery Museum - 74 Main Street, This large three floors of interaction and education is located just north of Bangor. Learn about music, natural science, art, and geography all in a unique way.

BANGOR RESTAURANTS Add your favourite restaurant
Sea Dog Tavern & Brewery - 26 Front Street, This is a popular spot and you will see why, as the 540 seater serves good old American favourites, from Burgers to T bones with all the trimmings, to be washed down with award winning beers from their own brewery.

Thistles Restaurant - 175 Exchange Street, A more upmarket option is this established fine dining restaurant that serves International cuisine and American classics. A variety of live music is presented over the weekends.

Little Lads Basket Bakery - 128 Main Street, One of the vegeterian choices in town. This busy restaurant offers non-meat dishes and good value meals, and one can enjoy a full meal with starters including bread from their bakery for about $5. Good friendly service completes the picture.

Ichiban - 226 Union Street, This Sushi bar is one of the best on the east coast.The food is well presented and tasty. Great value and a good venue to meet the locals who adore this form of eating.

BANGOR BARS & CLUBS Add your favourite bar & club
Benjamin's After Dark - This popular downtown night club should be your first stop (and maybe the only stop) on your quest for a great night out. The club features a main bar and side bar, Large dance floor, Hip hop and Techno blasts out on the weekends. No charge for ladies.

Ushuaia - 103 Park Street, A live music venue right next to the Maine University in Orono. The club features live bands and dance and it's position ensures plenty of students have a good time in between studying.

Independent Movie City 8 - 268 Odlin Road, A great venue for the movie fan. They show Independently made films and on-circuit blockbusters and do a special deal on Tuesdays at $1.

The Grasshopper Shop - 1 Market Street, This fine one stop Maine shop is located downtown and stock gifts from around the world as well as local. Shopping here is a fun and friendly experience and you are bound to find the perfect gift.

Ingrid's German Shop - 117 Buck Street, This unique European shopping experience is to be found right here in Bangor, Maine. Among Ingrid's many surprises are chocolates, flavoured teas, biscuits, jams and German traditional food.

Bangor Wine and Cheese Company - 88 Hammond Street, A huge shop that stocks all the New England as well as mostly American wines and cheeses. They often host tastings and educational evenings. They are happy to pass on their extensive knowledge.
