Ale-8-One Bottling Company - 5 Carol Road, Winchester, Telephone 859-744-3484. Ale-8-one is a soft drink that is unique to Kentucky. It has been bottled in Winchester since 1926. The recipe is top secret but you can arrange a tour by calling our office. Tours are given on Fridays at 10:50 a.m., and last about 45 minutes to an hour.
Civil War Fort at Boonesboro - Located across from Fort Boonesborough, Telephone (859) 744-0556. The fort overlooks the Kentucky River and was originaly intended to protect downsteam areas. The 26-acre Union Army earthenworks gun emplacement is now open to the public with free self-guided tours. |

Situated along Kentucky River, you can find a wide variety of meals from delicious potato skins or buffalo wings, seafood dishes and some excellent salads. Try their beer cheese soup or snow crab legs! Their menu is definitely out of the ordinary.
