The Coralville Lake - in the north of Iowa City, with it's 5000 acres of water, this area offers a multitude of fun things to do. From boating, fishing, swimming, and water-skiing to hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing.
The Amana Colonies - it takes a 20-minute drive west of the city to visit these colonies. If you are partial to excellent German homestyle food this trip is not to be missed. In addition, you can find some beautiful traditional crafts here.
Museum of Natural History - This old museum, founded in 1858 is certainly worth a visit. It has a Bird Hall, a Mammal Hall and an Iowa Hall. It has some wonderful exhibits for vistors to walk through featuring canyons, coral reefs, an Ice Age giant ground sloth, prairies, forests, and marshlands. A good call for the whole family.

Ground Round Restaurant and Lounge - 830 S. Riverside Dr., Tel - 351-2370. They offer light meals like sandwiches and hamburgers to good steaks for the hungry. Prices range from $3 - $10
