John J. Thrasher nicknamed “cousin John” built his home in 1870 and became the first mayor of Norcross. The Town was named after a friend and business associate of John Thrasher, Jonathan Norcross.
For years, Norcross was a resort town and centre of commerce. Many tourists and businessmen traveled to Norcross by train and stayed at the Brunswick Hotel. Farmers came to town to buy supplies and sell their cotton and other products.
Edward Buchanan established the first automobile manufacturing company in Georgia and named his automobile the Norcross. Unfortunately the company did not survive.

Heavenly Touch Wellness Centre – Located at 3475 Holcomb Bridge Road, Norcross, Georgia. The Heavenly Touch Wellness Centre provides a relaxing atmosphere and helps you escape from the physical and emotional stress of everyday life. The centre is dedicated to improving the appearance, health, knowledge and state of mind of their client. The Heavenly Touch Wellness Centre is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 7pm and Saturday from 9am to 6pm.
Federal Reserve Monetary Museum – Located at 1000 Peachtree Street, Northeast, Atlanta, Georgia, just outside of Norcross. This museum offers interactive, multimedia exhibits to ensure learning and fascination of its visitors. There is a fascinating collection of artifacts, coins and currency on display.
High Museum of Art – Located at 1280 Peachtree Street, Northeast, Atlanta, Georgia, just outside of Norcross. Wide ranges of artworks are on display, ranging from impressionism to modern works of art. There are also displays of contemporary and folk art.

Grace 17.20 – Located at 5155 Peachtree Parkway, Suite No. 320, Norcross, Georgia. Grace 17.20 is a unique dining experience. The wine country inspires the décor in the main dining room. There is a landscaped patio as well as the Tower Room, which accommodates groups up to 30, and for intimate occasions, there is the Chef’s Table which seats up to 10. The menu changes regularly and uses the freshest seasonal ingredients, which are prepared simply but tastefully. Shoney’s – Located at 5125 Willow Oak Trail, Norcross, Georgia. Shoney’s is famous is its buffets, such as its breakfast buffet, where more than 30 delicious choices are on offer. You can also choose from the breakfast menu offering the traditional morning favourites. The lunch and dinner buffet feature a variety of choices from meats, fish and seafood. There are also delicious varieties on our menu if you do not feel like anything on the buffet.
Applebee’s – Located at 7190 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Norcross, Georgia. Applebee’s has the best food in town as well as a great atmosphere and friendly service. There are meals like the Applebee’s House Sirloin, Crispy Orange Skillet and Oriental Salad, which are to die for.

Apache Café – Located at 64 3rd Street, North West, Atlanta, Georgia, only 14 miles from Norcross City Centre. There is always something happening at the Apache Café to keep their patrons coming back for more. Monday nights is Art Mondays, Tuesdays through Saturdays is usually live performances, but check local listings to find out who is playing when. Sunday nights is Free Forum Exchange and then after that, there are live performances. The Apache Café has delicious well-prepared food that can be enjoyed and well as a fully stocked bar. Doors open on Monday from 6pm to midnight, Tuesday to Sunday from 8pm to midnight.
ESPN Zone – Located at 3030 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, Georgia, only 13 miles from the Norcross City Centre. The ESPN Zone in Atlanta offers the newest technology that will blow you away. There are High Definition TV’s on the 16’Screen, which makes certain that you always have the best seats in the house. Best Friend Park – Located at 6224 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Norcross, Georgia. The Best Friend Park comprises of 43 acres of stunning gardens as well as a family aquatic centre, which has both a lap pool and a zero depth leisure pool, the Hudlow Tennis Center, which offers 16 courts and a pro shop and the Gunnin Community Building, which, contains a gymnasium and a meeting room. There is also a beautiful picnic area, which enables you to enjoy a peaceful day in nature.
