FORT MYERS ATTRACTIONS Add your favourite attraction
Cayo Costa State Park – This secluded island is one of Florida’s best-kept secrets and can only by accessed by boat. Visitors to the area can camp or rent one of the cozy cabins. The island does not offer any services, including electricity. Visitors may swim but there is no lifeguard on duty. Cabins must be reserved 11 months in advance but are well worth it. View some of the regions wide variety of wild life.

Edison Ford Winter Estates – One of the most famous attraction in the Fort Meyers area is the home where Thomas Edison spent the majority of w=his winters and the home that Henry Ford built right next door. The homes include Edison's laboratory and botanical gardens. Guided tours are available and are the only way visitors can view the homes.

Lakes Regional Park – This popular Fort Meyers lake covers over 279-acres and is filled with fun and exciting activities. The park boasts 158 acres of fresh waterlakes perfect for swimming, fishing and boating. There are lifeguards on duty during the summer months. Picnic areas are easily found along with a miniature train that offers children rides, boat rentals and snack stands.

Prawnbroker Restaurant and Fish Market - One of the most crowded and favorite sports in the city for fresh seafood is found at Prawnbroker Restaurant and Fish Market. Fresh fish selections vary depending on their availability and the menu offers a variety of seafood dishes prepared in many different and tantalizing ways. Vegetarians will also find something to their liking with one of their fabulous pasta dishes.

Bistro 41 - Reservations are strongly suggested at this popular eclectic bistro. Bistro 41 is located close to the Bell Tower Shops and diners can enjoy wonderful dining indoors or out. The wine list is extensive and features many wonderful selections.

The Veranda - Enjoy dining at one of the finest restaurants in the entire city. The restaurant was originally built as two homes but was later transformed into The Veranda when a kitchen and open courtyard were added to join the tow homes. Dines will be especially please dining in the tropical outdoor courtyard complete with a waterfall and gold fishpond. The dress code here is business casual or higher and reservations are strongly recommended.

FORT MYERS BEACHES Add your favourite beach
Turner Beach - Turner beach is perfectly situated between Captiva islands and Sanibel. This beautiful beach offers long stretches of sandy beaches that are perfect for shelling. Bring along your camera t take breathtaking photos of the west coast side sunset.

Bowman’s Beach - Set along the Gulf-side of Sanibel Island Bowman's Beach is a great place to take in spectacular sunset views. The beach is conveniently located on Bowman's Beach Road and is open year-round for picnics and beach strolls.

Lover’s Key State Park - Lover's Key State Park offers travelers two and a half miles of white soft beaches and is the great place to spend a lazy day in the sun. Enjoy world-class shelling, fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Visitors will also enjoy bird watching and observation areas to view manatees and dolphins.

FORT MYERS CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES Add your favourite children's spot
Imaginarium – This hands-on, interactive science museum was designed with children in mind. The museum caters to children under the age of 12 and features fun learning exhibits, display and fun ways of learning. Featuring an alligator lagoon, dinosaur bones excavation site, living coral reef and more this is a museum the children will not mind visiting time and time again.

Captiva Cruises – Captiva Cruises offers many different types of daily cruises that will bring excitement and fun back into your family vacation. Visitors can select for one of many 90-minute tours such as a dolphin watch, the one-hour sunset cruise or half day cruises that tour the many waterways of the region. Reservations must be made a week or less prior to arrival and visitors must arrange access to the private resort South Seas Resort where the cruises set sail.

Children’s Science Center – Family members of all ages will enjoy a day or evening at Children's Science Center. The center sprawls indoors and out and includes many exciting hands-on exhibits. Children can learn about electricity, reptiles and astronomy in an exciting environment. The museum features astronomy night where children can look through huge telescopes and explore the universe.

Located at 5240 Bank St. Fort Myers, 33907. (239)936-3800. Bananas has special fun chairs for kids- a fire truck, Barbie Jeep and racecar to sit in while getting your haircut. Also, there are movies to watch, lollypops and a play area. The atmosphere is fun, the stylists are great and there are grooming products galore for the under 18 set.
