NEW CASTLE ATTRACTIONS Add your favourite attraction
Dutch House Museum - 3rd Street, on the Green. This is one of the oldest brick houses in Delaware and dates back to 1700. The house is furnished with early Dutch antiques, including a courting bench. There is also a 16th century Dutch Bible on display.

Immanuel Episcopal Church - 2nd and Harmony streets, on the Green. This was the first parish of the Church of England in Delaware, and was built from 1703 to 1820. The church's cemetery is where many prominent Delawareans are buried, including George Read I who signed the Declaration of Independence.

Read House and Garden - 42 The Strand. This 22 room Federal-style house overlooking the river was originally the home of George Read II. The Palladian windows and composition work moldings were both part of the original design. The gardens that were added in the mid 1800s are the oldest gardens in Ddelaware.

NEW CASTLE RESTAURANTS Add your favourite restaurant
The Arsenal - 30 Market Street. This is one of the best restaurants in town, and it is housed in an ammunition storeage building dating back to the War of 1812. They serve a wide range of American dishes, including into General Sherman's salmon or Rebel Stew. This is a great place for lunch or dinner.

Jessop's Tavern - 114 Delaware Street. This restaurant is housed in a building that dates back to 1724, and is very popular with tourists. They serve a range of traditional colonial dishes, including colonial potpie; English pub fare; pot roast; roast duck; and fresh seafood. This is a great place to taste Delaware's history.

David Finney Inn - 216 Delaware Street. This is one of the newest restaurants in town, and is very popular with locals and tourists alike. They serve a wide range of traditional colonial and some modern innovative dishes, such as crab cakes with a bit of sherry and Old Bay seasoning, and almond encrusted chicken stuffed with shrimp; spinach; sun-dried tomato; and brie.

NEW CASTLE BARS & CLUBS Add your favourite bar & club
2 Can Dans Inc - 3050 New Castle Avenue. This is one of the most popular bars in town, and is very popular with a mixed crowd of locals. This is the place to go to have some fun and meet some of the locals, while enjoying a couple of drinks.

Gators - Basin Road Plaza Shop. This is another great place in town to go for a fun night out, and it is one of the most popular hang-outs for the younger locals. Here you can have a few interesting drinks, while mingling with the locals and getting some insider info on Delaware.

Kum-On-In - 249 Christiana Road. This friendly and warm bar is very popular with locals and tourists alike. This is the place to go if you're looking to have some fun and a wild night out. There are pool tables and other games to keep you busy, or you could just relax and have a few drinks.

NEW CASTLE PARKS & GARDENS Add your favourite park & garden
White Clay Creek State Park - 425 Wedgewood Road, just out of town. This beautiful park was created in 1968, and now covers 3,384 acres of land. This is a great place to take the whole family on a fun day out in nature. The park has many facilities on offer, including a Carpenter Recreation Area; hiking trails throughout the park; fishing areas; and picnic areas.

Bellevue State Park - Interstate 95, Exit 9. This is another great place to take the family to have some fun outdoors, and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The park has many facilities to keep everyone happy, including hiking and jogging trails; fishing ponds; picnic areas; cycling paths; tennis courts; and horse riding facilities.
