| WINTER PARK LOCAL HISTORY |

| Located just 66 miles to the north west of Denver, Winter Park is has a lot to offer. At 9000 feet elevation, Winter park is nestled among some of the finest skiing in the country. In winter snow-mobiling, skiing and cross-country trails are very popular. In the summer, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, rafting, horseback riding and golfing are the attractions of note. |

Cozens Ranch House Museum – For a look back in time to Colorado’s pioneer days, this 1970’s homestead is worth a visit. Here you will find a fully restored family residence, a small hotel, a post office and stagecoach stop with a replica of the stagecoach that traveled the routes around here between 1875 and 1910. There is also a small gift shop where you can pick up a souvenir. The museum is open Wednesday to Saturday from 11pm to 4pm.
Amaze’n Winter Park – For an entertaining family event, this two level labyrinth of twists and turns offers prizes to those participants who can “beat the clock”. The maze is altered on a weekly basis to keep it interesting for the many repeat customers. The observation deck offers a bird’s eye view of the maze and surrounding scenery and is a good place to watch the unfolding entertainment. The maze is only open in summer.
Outdoor Activities – Winter Park is a great place to go rafting, there are many local rafting guides and outfitters that offer excursions. If you enjoy mountain biking there are over 600 miles of mapped trails in the area; the “King of the Rockies” Bike Race is a world famous annual event held near here. Winter Park is regularly voted Colorado’s favourite ski resort, mainly because of its excellent facilities and less pretentious attitude than other resort towns. |

Deno’s Mountain Bistro – This is undoubtedly one of Winter Parks best restaurants; it is a firm favourite of locals as well as visitors. Upstairs you will find a vibrant sports pub, downstairs a casual yet elegant fine dining restaurant. The gourmet menu is sure to satisfy most appetites; this is complemented by a superb wine list featuring over 300 selections. The bistro is open daily from 11.30am to 11pm.
Rome on the Range – For a typical western feel, Rome on the Range offers you a restaurant, saloon and dance hall in one. The atmosphere is relaxed with lots of Old West memorabilia as decoration. The restaurant specializes in steak, prepared on a wood fired grill; also on offer are chicken and seafood as well as pasta dishes. The restaurant is open daily from 11.30am to 10pm.
The Kitchen – For the best breakfast in town, the Kitchen is the place to come. This morning’s only restaurant has been going since 1975 and is extremely popular. Breakfasts are cooked to your order and are definitely worth the wait. |

Crooked Creek Saloon – The bar here features live music, pool tables and dancing. If you are hungry you can try the famous Fatboy burger and fiery Radium Hot Wings.
Moffat Station – This is Winter Park’s only Micro Brewery, so why not stop by and sample some of the local brew. The bar is located directly opposite the base of the ski area.
Winter Park Pub – This pub is frequented by many of the locals, with over 15 beers on tap and reasonable prices, it is not difficult to see why. For entertainment there is satellite TV sport and pool tables. |

Winter Park Children’s Center – For children aged 2 months to 5 years, this center offers programs and activities in summer and winter.
Snowboard & Ski School – Offering a variety of ski and snowboard programs for children from ages 3 to 13. |
