Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave - situated at 287 Lookout Mountain Road in Golden. This interesting museum houses Buffalo Bill memorabilia as well as Indian artifacts and antique fire arms. The museum also has a childrens exhibit, gift shop, snack bar and picturesque views of the Rocky Mountains. The grave of Buffalo Bill is located just outside of the museum.
Denver Art Museum - located about 15 miles from Henderson at 100 W. 14th Ave. Parkway in Denver, this family friendly museum houses a world class exhibition of art. The museum is open daily except on Mondays and offers tours as well as a lovely gift shop and great museum cafe.
Colorado Railroad Museum - located in Golden at 17155 W. 44th Avenue. The Railroad Museum has the largest narrow gauge train collection in the United States. The museum has a working roundhouse and a fascinating display of over 70 trains as well as a gift store and informative library. Open daily 9am to 5pm.
Henderson Museum - this large museum has 6 exhibit halls that house over 3 million examples of geology, paleontology, zoology and archaeology. Other exhibits include the interesting Dinosaur Hall which is great for children as well as the Discovery Corner where children can have hands on adventures. Entrance is free. |

Blimpie - located at 12060 Sable Boulevard, Brighton. Blimpie is a cheerful casual restaurant that serves inexpensive healthy food. Blimpies specialities are delicious sandwiches that cater to every taste and fresh salads that are great for vegetarians.

Barr Lake State Park - located at 13401 Picadilly Rd., Brighton, the park has an abundance of wildlife and is particularly good for bird watching. Other facilities at the park include jogging tracks, horse riding, fishing and boating. Open daily 5am to 10pm.
Golden gate Canyon State Park - located only 25 miles from Henderson, this stunning 12 000 acre park is a must to visit. The park has a number of hiking trails and picnic areas situated amongst the splendid natural scenery of wild flower meadows and dense forests. Other activities in the park include angling, biking trails and horseback riding. |

Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Centre - located at 6252 W. 104th Ave. in Westminster. Children and adults alike will be enchanted by the stunning butterfly pavilion that is home to hundreds of magnificently colored butterflies that fly freely around you. Visitors can also explore the eye to eye exhibit of some of the worlds most fascinating arthropods and visit the Butterfly Deli or walk the outdoor nature trail. |
