| FORT COLLINS LOCAL HISTORY |

| Fort Collins began its history as an army camp along the river Poudre. In 1867, the camp was dismantled but the small community that had sprung up around it remained. Much of the old town has been preserved and can be seen in the Historic Town District. |

Anheuser-Busch Tour Center – Learn about the Budweiser brewing process and see the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales.
Fort Collins Museum – Featuring regional cultural and natural history in three galleries housed in a sandstone building dating back to the early part of last century. Open Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 5pm, admission is free.
Great Stupa at Shambhala Mountain Center – This is the most impressive example of Buddhist sacred architecture outside of Asia. Filled with sacred art, you can also enjoy hiking, yoga, bodywork, meditation, good meals and lodging. |

Auntie Stone’s Kitchen - 1513 E Mulberry. This is a really great family restaurant – it has the historic feel of the town’s past. The prices are reasonable, the food is good and there are arcade games for the children. Open daily 11am to 8pm weeknights, 10pm weekends.
Country Buffet - 118W. Troutman Parkway. Here, you will find delicious American home style cooking in a convenient location. There are discounts for seniors and children pricing. There are over 100 different items to choose from every day.
Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant - 149 W. Mountain Ave. Traditional tex-mex is prepared from scratch here daily. This restaurant caters for vegetarians. Open daily for lunch and dinner. |

Cooper Smith’s Pub & Brewing - 5 Old Town Square. The oldest brew pub of its kind in Northern Colorado. The food and ale are great, with lovely outdoor patio seating in summer.
